No, it wasn’t originally like that. I bought it cheap as the exterior was a little beaten up but the optics were very good. Then I had it CLA’d and re-anodised in silver with a chrome nose by the forum’s dcshooter (haven’t seen him around here lately). It’s very pretty, especially on the K2 which IMHO is one of the best looking Pentax bodies.
That's cool. I own allot of Exakta equipment and like the "chrome" lens look You'd think I'd own the 43 or 77 Pentax in chrome, but I haven't pulled the trigger on those due to the higher cost...but they're on my wish list.

K2 with refurbished SMCP 50mm/f1.2
That combo just about epitomizes the title of this thread,
Very nice,
That K2 looks perfect for a 50-year old body

Yes, the K2 has hardly a mark on it - even still has the little plastic cap on the ASA ring release button. As a Pentax body design, it’s unique among the four K series cameras in not being based on the Spotty F body shell but is more compact, and kind of halfway between the K series and M series in size. What also makes it attractive to look at is the minimalism of design, for example the clean lines of the rewind crank area which is similar to the MX.

When I shoot film, I use one of these lovelies; AP with Tak 58mm/f2.4, K2 with refurbished SMCP 50mm/f1.2. The K2 came with the SMCP 50mm/f1.4 but this looks much prettier!
Those two cameras and lenses are luscious.

Nice to have the hood too. They aren't too common.

Thanks, was fortunate, the hood came with my K18mm f3.5 (share the same hood) which I also used for this shot.

Went to the local trunk sale to say hi to some people & maybe snag a bit of film. Walked away with a new camera body. Oops.

Stuck it next to the VX1000 I was carrying for a portrait, since they're distant relatives. Whether it's an improvement or not is a matter of personal opinion, though I will say that they somehow made the waist-level finder worse. Even the early Varex WLF that came with my Exa is better than the one for the Topcon R series.

I have quite a few film cameras. Some of these images I posted elsewhere, but here they are again :-)

Jonathan, I recently bought an F100 and I've been thinking about adding the bottom battery pack/grip to it. It's a big enough camera where it fills my hand nicely, but the grip would make it roomy. Just curious what you think of yours?

It's a camera I've lusted after for quite some time, especially as I wanted something that performed better than my AF Pentax cameras, but then came into a Tamron 28-75mm f/2.8 very cheap and built a small Canon film arsenal around that. The Nikon seems definitely better than the the EOS 30 & 33.

Despite wanting to keep it, I bought the F100 to sell at a profit (I reckon I can double my money on it) because I really can't get into yet another mount, especially Nikon where used lens prices are much higher than for most other mounts. I'd love to keep it but my head tells me I'd need to get rid of something else, maybe all the Canon gear. The well known rear door latch problem worries me but other than pro grade stuff that's a pretty common problem across all makes and models of AF film cameras.

I'd love to take it out for a test drive while I have it but I don't have a single Nikon lens, and there's virtually nothing that can be adapted to Nikon without losing either image quality or infinity focus. It does seem like a beautiful machine though. I'm very tempted to pick something up, even a lowly 50/1.8, to try it out...

Returned home I decided to load Godzilla, aka my Canon F-1n, and go out for a street shot. With 1.5 kg with the FD55mm f1.2 after 4 km my back is hurting.

I wonder how the weight of that compares to my A-1 and metal-bodied chrome-nose FD 55/1.2 combo.

I also have an A-1, the body weights less than the FD55mm f1.2...I already consider the LX unbalanced with the K50mm f1.2 and I prefer to use that lens with my K2DMD....however this lens is a mostrousity, holding it feels like holding a big ball of glass, I have other three 1.2s but they have half its size, and the F-1n might weight less than the F2 but definitely feels bigger, it's definitely the King of the 70s pro-SLRs.
