It also depends on which Minolta body you have. My SRT 101 and 102 are mucho more substantial than my contemporary Spotmatic II and KX.

Steve
BTW Steve, I seem to recall you have some Ricoh's too. Well I have what some shallow research show as the first Ricoh SLR. Supposedly Ricoh bought the design from Mamiya who built the Nikkorex F for Nikon and labeled it the Singlex. It is a "Nikon" mount but with a twist. It will mount Nikon lenses but the Ricoh lenses made for it will not mount on a Nikon. It is my heaviest non interchangeable viewfinder SLR coming in 825g compared to plain prism F at 685g and the XR-7 at 470g. I believe all the other Ricohs that followed adopted the M42 mount then eventually the K mount.

I wonder if there are any other SLRs - excepting the interchangeable viewfinder types, that outweigh it?

Front adapters - 2 Nikon, 1 FD, 1 M/MD, 1 PL, 1 OL and somewhere lost in the house is a C/Y ... thanks for letting me show off, J (like you had a choice!)
Salut, Johnny le Frog
Smashing collection . . .

Seems a great concept in terms of sharing the same lens across multiple mounts. How are those adaptalls in terms of performance?

One way to make a Pentax Panda
I always love Nester's posting. Pentax Panda it is. I love my white K-x until it got broken, repaired and later parted it with sadness. Great use of the white lens.

Cheers,
Hin

And the mix of Pentax Auto 110 on a digital

Pentax Auto 110 24mm f/2.8, NEX 5N, a 25 mm to 37 mm step-up ring

smallest lens in my gear set with 25.5mm filter ring

aperture blade project that never get successful and finished in NEX, the idea will work greatly on M43 with a smaller sensor big enough for the image circle on Auto 110 to fill.

Cheers,
Hin

I can't seem to get around to shooting my Spotmatic F so I picked up a M42 adapter to try the Super Taks from it on my mirrorless which recently added focus peaking to make it more feasible.

Tuco, I'm happy that I'm on a dinosaur pc with vertical screens, as with a tablet I'd surely have shorted it with all the drool your set up brought out. Fuji does know how to stroke our design bumps... Olympus is pretty good at it too... I don't know why the other manufacturers don't seem to get the idea of how to make a retro-attractive modern camera.

Thanks Hin! Love your explorations, I'm always curious to see what you're up to!

@Tuco, I have been playing with Lens Turbo focal reducer that does the offset of the 1.5 crop fact on APS-C sensor. LT have adapters for NEX and Fuji. Here is how it looks on the NEX with Super-Tak 35mm f/3.5 (a lovely lens). The beauty in the LT or the better (more expensive) one in Speedbooster lies in the gain of 1 stop of light and 0.72*1.5 final crop factor on the APS-C, essentially get you close to the FF FOV.

Not a great picture to show, I have your SuperTak 28mm f.3.5, the best part with the LT is gaining back the 28mm * 1.5 * 0.72 ~ 30.24mm FOV in FF and gain of one stop

shot wide open with NEX 5N in f/3.5 with Lens Turbo

@Nester, thank you for your kind words.

@Jean, we share similar traits with LBA non-stop on Super/SMC Takumar and Tamron adaptall-2.

Cheers,
Hin

Bonsoir Les,

Thanks and the AD2's are really fine for me as a hobbyist ... the 19AH is great, especially with a PK/A mount. I just like to pick one up for the day and go shoot for fun and the experience ... right now, my fetish lens is the 40A, but I cannot really tell you why, just get good results and like its feel, etc. I'd like to pick up a 01A, but I'm afraid that it will spoil me ... no, not really true, but it's a short list lens along with a 63B and maybe a mirror for fun ... thanks again & salut, J

That sounds interesting, thanks.

Here is a test shot with the Super Tak 28/3.5

Love your shot. I should have favored it earlier on Flickr. The Super-Tak 35mm f/3.5 gets me totally hooked on the Takumar. I was naive all along with M42 lenses until I own a good copy of the Super-Takumar. I am fortunate to have a good copy of the 28mm and 35mm with the original lens hood.

Super-Tak 35mm f/3.5 on NEX w/o LT, shot wide open

I am yet to shoot the Super-Tak on Lens Turbo with close to original 35mm FOV and a gain of 1 stop.

Cheers,
Hin

Thanks. I have the 35/3.5 too. I haven't tried out in the field yet though. Getting closer to the lenses native FOV is attractive indeed. That would make the Tak 50/1.4 I have more usable as well. I also have a Pentax M42 to PK adapter ring which means getting the PK Lens Turbo would open up using some of those lenses I have as well. Imagine what my A* 300/4 would look like on that camera, ha.

You have got to ask around for the Fuji members. That Zhongyi Lens Turbo adapter is about the size of Konica AR adapter which is smaller than the M42/K to NEX/Fuji adapters. It makes a lot of difference when adapting to Fuji/Nex as the M42 adapter or K adapter for my NEX are big and bulky making the combo less appealing in field use for me. The Lens Turbo does have the negatives in corner sharpness, blue central spot when shooting into strong light source. But for $142 of my copy of LT, I have no complaints as it allow me to use my M42 and K lenses in a smaller form factor which is important to me in using my NEX.

Cheers,
Hin
