There is a third photocell acting as a switch. I'll see if I can get a picture later today or a scan of the service manual.

Thanks,
Ismael

*EDIT* From the service manual

Not the best picture but I promise next time I open a K1000 I'll take a good picture of these.

Thanks,
Ismael

Everyday Bessa. Here, brought forward through the time portal from 1935, is the common Voigtländer folding viewfinder with the common Voigtar f/4.5 lens. Comparable to the Kodak Six-20 of the same period but with less bling.

Lovely. I'm fond of old folders.

Lovely. I've a very similiar war-era one that shot beautifully until the shutter cocking froze upon my 3rd (just as ill-advised as the previous two) attempt at utilizing the self-timer.
I've yet to try and help now 4 years on, but it's my favorite shelf queen.

The two things on either side of the viewfinder window (red arrows) are trimmer potentiometers, perhaps the J2xx adjustments. That third CdS cell likely biases the transistor on, to enable power to the light meter. So it saves battery in the dark/when covered.

Hello,

Sorry for the confusion. My arrows were meant to point the area where the CdS cells are located but they are on the other side of that PC board looking into the prism.

Thanks,
Ismael

I have spent a few years and many failed attempts to find a suitable 50mm to go with my Canon P at a reasonable price (ie cheap). I gave up just before Xmas and ordered the Voigtlander 50mm f1.5 Nokton, which arrived this morning.

The tiny ME is not that popular. This ME SE (Special Edition) looks nice and it is really small with the smc Pentax-M 40mm.

Oh, the only difference between this one and the non-SE version is the brown leatherette.

I had one, it also had the split image device in the view finder rotated at a 45-deg angle, instead of horizontal.
Sweet little camera, I wish I had not sold it.
this one looks to be in great shape too,

Dry firing it is certainly fun, and I have tested it on one of my Fujis. It certainly shines. A roll of XP2 Plus has been loaded and I am ready to go.
