Now wait a minute! Where can we see this silver marvel? I think it could easily have stayed, after all, it is only 'digital film'

Totally. That was the point of my post. And absolutely no antipathy to the 6x7: only envy.
I guess I wasn't awake or aware enough to properly appreciate your humor. Apologies.

And there's plenty of envy of your K-3 on my end, too!

I was very undecided because I already have a M3 and the M5 has a bad reputation and it's considered an ugly duck, but in the end I decided to get it and I think for a decent price (500euros)...I'm eager to receive it but I found out that the RF are still bloody expensive! I let a 85mm 1.8 go when it reached 350 and now I see I can't get a decent standard 50 mm for that price in the RF area.

I pulled the trigger on my evilbay Dragunov rifle and shot the other potential buyers.

It may be the film SLR section, but there's non-SLR's in here too. It was my understanding that this, despite being the FIlm SLR section of PentaxForums, is a brand, focusing system, and capture technology neutral thread.

Bring the silver K-3 back!

I don't think I posted these in this thread but I was trying some background materials/colors to see what sets off the black bodied cameras better. Shot with Kodak Gold 100.

@ Arnold, Womble and LesDMess

Many thanks....I think its beautiful too! The zebra Auto Takumar lens produces very good results on digital, and looks great. The camera controls are different from the Spotmatic, but it fortunately comes with a helpful non-hefty 21 page instruction guide - just 11 pages on actually using the camera. Can't wait to try it out.

One other thing I've learned from the guide is Pentax terminology pre-1960s. The lens is described as having a "diaphragm charging lever" - more often called a cocking lever. (Used for "wide-aperture focusing"). The aperture ring is called the "diaphragm adjusting ring", and the focusing ring is known as the "distance scale ring".
