in comparision and the shutter is much quieter and smoother.

Thanks monochrome and G and T for the clarification. I was not aware that the SV was smaller but now I see it clearly on the pics. Yes, it's more elegant, although I kind of like the curved lines around the lens mount that the Spotmatic has. I'm afraid that means I have to get my hands on a SV too...

A nice "Helios kit" for 20.50€ delivered to my door ... like brand new, but had to buy 2 new SLR batteries. A fully working Zenit 12XP with case and manual, a nice Helios 58/2 (44M), a Helios 135/2.8 ("Made in Japan" & with minor fungus that I will clean out later) with caps, a very nice Helios 28/2.8 ("Made in Japan") with caps, a working Helios 38 Auto tilt-head flash (cleaned up corroded contacts) with manual, full certificates of origin for all the gear, plus original sales invoice along with dedicated carrying case and the silica bags!!! Kit purchased in March of 1985 for 1,495 French Francs.
Nice kit!

1. I think a black SV is the prettiest camera ever made.
:
My all time favorite is the black K. But black paint is so nice!

The K gets to go out every now and then, with film in, and at times, it gets to go out just to be touched, wound up and triggered (the camera, not me!!)

I absolutely love mine.

Got this second version of the Zeiss Ikon Contessa with the Synchro Compur shutter and MX sync today, it had been in stock at a local camera store for almost a decade and they sold it to me for the price of the labor to get it running and CLA'd:

Got this Minolta Freedom III (AF-Z in Europe) at a swap meet for $5, this as the first 35mm camera that was ever mine, not borrowed from anyone, I got it for my 16th birthday and took thousands of pictures with it all over the country and in Europe before it died. I shot a roll and hope it turns out, it's a decent little worry-free point and shoot, I still have pictures framed all over the house from my original one:

35 Electro MC I picked up at a thrift store for 10 bucs today. It took about two hours to replace the light seals and clean out the battery compartment. There was so much black goo I think I'm going to see it in my dreams tonight, but a rolls going through tomorrow weather permitting.

Lovely!

Is that thing Full Frame? I know Yashica made a few half-frame cameras about that size, I used to have one and probably still do if I dig for it. it's never worked since I got it though

Did you redo the seals in foam or in yarn?
I used foam. Really people use yarn? I think the foam I have is to thick, everything ends up little to tight.

Unix it's a full frame, I cant see how cameras could be any smaller and still fit the film canister.

Both the Olympus XA and Rollei 35 are smaller, but not by much. And yes, people really do use yarn, though it is hard to manage if the grooves are narrow. My Zorki 4K, made in 1975 in Soviet Russia, has yarn light seals.

Cool. How do you keep the yarn in place?

I think they used a spot of glue in places. I have never taken it out.
