Thanks monochrome and G and T for the clarification. I was not aware that the SV was smaller but now I see it clearly on the pics. Yes, it's more elegant, although I kind of like the curved lines around the lens mount that the Spotmatic has. I'm afraid that means I have to get my hands on a SV too...
Try to get on the Sightseeing Screwmount list. It is a loaner SV that travels around the world from member to member for a week or two each, If it is still working That's where stevebrot and I 'discovered' the SV.

[EDIT: I checked the thread] PM Pioneer and cc: Blue. They'll get it to you - hasn't moved in quite a while and it just had a CLA..

One of my trade acquisitions from Poitiers' swap back at the beginning of the month. Still need to clean it up and got a battery from the "Yashica guy" ... everything works, but need to redo the seals ... Swapped a film Nikon SLR that I had about 10€ invested in via thrift store and my minor repairs ... plus he gave 40€ in cash to boot. Also here are a few snaps of the swap ... just for fun. J

I love these camera fair pictures you keep posting!

The Electro 35 GSN is probably my top of the list for fixed-lens RF in 35mm. Mine was my first rangefinder, and I use it even in preference to my Leica depending on the situation.

I used foam. Really people use yarn? I think the foam I have is to thick, everything ends up little to tight.

Unix it's a full frame, I cant see how cameras could be any smaller and still fit the film canister.
Believe it or not, there are smaller out there. The miniscule Olympus XA comes to mind, and it's even a rangefinder! The Minox 35ML is pretty tiny, too, as is the Rollei 35. All of them full frame.

If you want to go to half-frame and deal with special cartridges, there's the unbelieveably small Tessina, a Twin-lens reflex half-frame 35mm camera that is small enough to be worn as a watch.

That said, lets tread lightly so this thread doesn't go political.

Here's most of my set of manual primes. I've just changed my gear setup to AF zooms and mf primes, so other than a few gaps I can live with I'm set.

Something from every age: Tak 300/4 (1958-62?), Super Tak 105/2.8, SMC 17 Fish-Eye (love the hyphen ), SMC-M 200/4 and SMC-A 50/2.8 1:2 macro. The SMC-A 24/2.8 and Hanimar 400/6.3 are missing from the group photo, and the Rokinon 8/3.5 fisheye is off sulking because the 17mm is taking over the wide-end duties; I just don't need to go wider with what I shoot, sorry Rokinon

Some day that Super Tak hopes to go to sleep in the dcshooter magic tub, and wake up silver!

Thanks unix ... looking forward to using my GSN. There's another swap this Sunday about 2 & 1/2 hours northwest of Poitiers; don't know yet if I am going to go. But I have booked a room for the Bičvres (Paris) swap/expo = Home

My biggest error of the Poitiers' swap is in the last photo I posted ... a nice ME-F w/out lens for only 50€ (and probably could have bargained the price down a few Euros and/or for a trade) ... I do not know why but I hesitated and when I came back by the seller's stand about 30 minutes later, it was gone ... Merde! Oh well, win some, loose some .. Salut, J

Just got this today, mom brought it home from a yard sale for me. This is in near mint condition. She paid a whopping 25 cents for it! I cleaned out the dust, loaded it with Portra 160 and will develop first roll tomorrow!
I saw some website where a guy used one of these to take wedding pix! He said the aperture is about f=32 with a shutter rated at 1/50th but his was closer to 1/30th.
PHO-TAK Traveler 120, Synchro Flash. Uses 120 roll film on a curved film plane to deal with the pincushion of a meniscus 110mm Zellar lens. The box camera exposes a 2 1/4" x 3 1/4" frame in a body that is approx. 4" wide, 3 1/2" tall and 4 1/2" deep.
All metal construction, very well built, like a damn tank, and well engineered to make that neg size in that body!

I would have bought an A7 if I could have afforded it but I'm quite satisfied with the Fuji/Minolta kit:

Fuji X-E1 with iShoot L-plate/grip and gordy strap
Fuji 18-55/2.8-4
Minolta MD 24/2.8
Minolta MD 28/2.0
Minolta MD 35/1.8
Minolta MD 58/1.2
Vivitar/Tokina 90/2.5 Macro ("Bokina")
Minolta MC 135/2.8
Minolta MD 200/4.0
Minolta 2x TC 300-S

My Rokinon Fisheye is in full sympathy with yours. While an excellent lens, it mostly sits on the shelf while the Zenitar gets to ride in the bag.

Thanks so much for the suggestion! However, I'm afraid even several weeks would be stress rather than pleasure--I'm just too busy right now for these things. Perhaps some time later, if it is still working. Great idea nevertheless!

Picked this beauty up today. Took it home for a scrubbing and could not resist snapping some photos.
