Chinon Infrafocus 35F-MA. I absolutely love early, clunky innovations (in this case, infrared autofocus). Takes nice pictures though, high-end compacts had really good glass in them back then.
Anyone else got a camera with a face?
I have picked up several nice compacts at my thrift store, but have not posted them here.

No faces that I recall, but going to go back and look again now ... J

Yep, All I use is the caffenol for b/w films and when i get my paper, i will use it on the paper negs and prints as well.

BTW, I just scored 100 sheets of color 4x5 vericolor for $20! LOL
The Portra went for almost $50, and I didn't get it, but the Vericolor sold with one bid, 50 sheets per box, two boxes.

Went up to a camera fair near Leeds today with £120 in hand, came back with these and £10 change.

Exacta Varex IIa. In lovely condition with a spotless Pancolar 2/50, it's really really gorgeous.

Super A with A50/1.7, I've been wanting both this camera and this lens for quite a while, so the two in great condition for £55 was a great deal.

Fujica Drive. I love little half-frame cameras and spring-wind mechanisms. The guy threw it in cheap with the Super A and I couldn't resist.

There was a black SPF too (discussed at length before in this thread), the guy wanted £70 for it. I tried to part-ex the lovely Pancolar 1.8/50 that cost me £80 a few weeks ago with it, but he didn't want it - 'I've got too many of those already'. Alright for some I suppose

That Super A was a good catch. I have a rough but functional one which doesn't get as much use as it should.

I'm keeping my eyes open for a "European Camera of the Year" version and the matching 49mm lens cap. Chances of my finding a complete boxed set for a price I can afford are nil, but if I can snag a clean body, strap and cap I can reassemble the set as the other components are standard.

Nice IIa! Handling is strange, but the cameras have a certain "feel". The Pancolar is a real gem mechanically and optically. How is the shutter? I have been tempted to get a Varex, but have not found any that did not need work ($$).

Looks like a great score as I've been on the lookout for one in decent enough shape to experience!

Bonjour,

I went to the Tours' annual expo and swap today. Only a hour north of me and well worth the effort.

It was a bit less populated with vendors this year, but I still scored some nice gear that I will share later.

Here's some images for fun. Hope you like these snaps!

Salut, J

Ha! Nope, no ATM's nearby and I left my checkbook in the car on pupose.

Pulled out 200€ cash in Poitiers and only spent just over half of that. So, I was a good boy ...

Just like in Las Vegas casinos, no ATM machines within so many feet of slot machine . . .

Two low budget scores from Tours ... I am a sucker for some German gear. The Praktica works and came with a good battery.

I paid "full price" for these, but when I came back the same seller gave me a 2€ discount on a Canon FD 135/3.5 ... only 10€ for that lens. Ha!

This maybe a little late but here is the handy checklist from the Dec 1970 Modern Photography magazine for you to use as a buying guide for your Praktica super TL . . .

I keep meaning to buy some Pentacon Electric lenses for my Praktica LLC. Which was bought from a junk shop along with its mouldy CZJ 50/2.8, a Zenit 12XP with very broken electrics, and a Helios 135/2.8. The only part of the bundle I couldn't fully repair was the Zenit, which fires but doesn't meter. The Helios is a very nifty lens and the CZJ is pretty decent despite the inevitable dust after its cleaning. Not bad for £13!

I picked up these two lenses for £1 (the pair) along with an old flashgun in another junk shop last year. The Hanimex 28mm is very soft (I understand that there's a common fault with these lenses, but can't find what I need to tighten) but the Kennex 135mm is brilliant:

These Hanimex 28s were made by Tokina, and I've seen them with at least one other name attached.
