Congratulations on your find. The LX is a beauty. I have the later version, which I bought used a few years ago.
Personally I prefer the M lenses just for the looks. The chrome ring just makes them so much prettyer than the later A lenses. Just for that, I stocked up on M lenses instead of A lenses, although I knew they would be more or less useless when I eventually went digital. On my newly bought K20D I can only use them in manual mode. (I hope some day Pentax will release a body with uncrippled mount, but I'm afraid they never will)
So, IMHO you should get M lenses for you LX. It looks much nicer with them. :-)
