How's the lens?
It's decent enough as far as I can tell.
I'll post some images in the film image thread soon.

How interesting -- there I was thinking is this a half-frame camera? As you say, bigger than it appears in the photo.

Back in action, this has been in the family since my mother bought it new:

Complete overhaul and CLA by John Titterington, JTcamera at aol dot com. He lives in Kansas, and in addition to Minolta SR also specializes in Minolta X, Olympus OM 1, Canon A, and, yes, Pentax K. His service on this camera included recalibrating the meter to work with modern 1.5v batteries. Fast service and excellent communication. He sells refurbished bodies on eBay. Hoping to get a chance to run a roll through the SRT 101 in the next couple of weeks, but as far as I can tell so far he has done an excellent job and at a very reasonable price.
The Minolta SRTs are beautiful and very nice to use, maybe even more so than k-mount models... I have a 101b with a meter which is two stops off but consistent, so it can be used as long as I remember to adjust the ISO as needed.

Thanks for the reference. I have a black SR-T 101 that needs CLA plus other minor issues ...

I found a place in the UK, but lost their contact info ... argh.
Was it Harrow Technical? They specialise in K-mount but I think they do other stuff too. That's the only place I know off-hand.

No, but thanks for the suggestion. It was not them.

I am now searching in my bookmarked Web pages to see if I saved it ... hope so.

EDIT - I think that I found them. "CAMSERVE" in Hellingly, Esat Sussex. Anyone ever use them before?

Going to call Monday to confirm. If it's them, they said that they had the black rewind crank for my black SR-T 101.

Also as a ISO 400 film I'm not sure the camera's shutter speeds will be able to provide high enough shutter speeds as it only goes up to 1/250sec.
Here in Chicago, typical overcast skies reduce the light enough to allow shooting ISO 400 film at f/16 and 1/250th second. Wish we had more of your Queensland sunshine.

Wow, looks great. What movements other than swing?

Speaking of swing, here are three swingers:

Jeff,

It also shifts.

By the way, I looked at your Flickr photostream and was very impressed with the quality and variety of your photographs.

Swing/shift bellows -- as if I my GAS weren't bad enough already. Thanks for the kind words!

Wow ... You all are making me feel porny! Kind of makes me want to show what I've got.

Now, if only I could find the time ...

The Russian Trio
by BlindLuckPhoto, on Flickr

My Russian collection is coming along, if I win the lottery I'll put a SMC-L 43mm f1.9 Special on the Zorki. The Cosmorex SE is an export badged Zenit EM, the Zorki Mir is a domestic-only version of the Zorki 4 missing the slow speeds.

Inside a M85 mm f2.0:

The spot is on the filter, not the lens or camera.

I had one of those. I paid $200 for it in 1970 with a 50mm f/2 DR Summicron. Talk about seller's remorse even after 10 years.

Varades (France) Photo Swap ... this morning

I picked up some nice stuff ... and cheap. All for just at 100€

- a SMC Tak 200/4 with caps and case
- a SMC M 50/4 Macro with caps
- a mint Helios 44 (8 blades & M42)
- an Auto Chinon 55/1.4 - dropped and very stiff throw, but I fixed that in about a half hour ...
- a LX with a M 50/1.7 (traded 2 Nikons that I didn't want any more - thus zero expenditure and had very little in these thrift store Nikons)

Here's two more images ... the next swap will be the Paris area swap at Bièvres in June.

For that one, I stay over night at friends. Since it's both Saturday and Sunday, I drive up early Saturday morning and back home early afternoon on Sunday.
