I have no idea if they have Internet. Apparently, it's just one person that prices the small amount of camera stuff. They usually let a bunch pile up, then price it and set it out. Also, there's really not "a lot" coming through there ... I just go often and early to get the best.

Based on experience, a lens can go from 3€ to 5€, a compact from 2€ to 5€, a SLR from 5€ to 7€ and a "camera kit" bag with SLR and additional lens(es) and/or flash from 7€ to 10€. They have a "junk bin" in which I last found a Nikon F100 with shutter release for 6€ ... and they also have an "antique" section with a counter for photo gear, which can be bad, junk stuff and some good stuff. Also, I also picked up TWO Durst M305 enlargers with lens for 5€ each ...

It all varies a lot. That's just the way it is ...
I need to visit France again soon. Can one find any good stuff in Paris?

Not really. Paris is very, very competitive for just about everything. I lived there for 8 years and scored very little, but I was not looking too hard either.

My biggest "camera experience" in Paris was when our apartment got burglarized and some nice photo stuff was stolen ... back in my Minolta SLR collection days.

Guess the best camera find and wine/food finds would be outside Paris

To bad about the break in. Hope I never will experience that.

These are the inventory "mug shots" ... happy camper.
You certainly scored well. I have often wondered if the F3 was worth having, since I own lovely F and F2 examples. The F3 at least has a manual winder although I believe it is otherwise battery dependent. The F4,5,6 all look like plastic monstrosities I would not enjoy holding, even though they are undoubtedly fine cameras.

Thanks Bill & W ... the Canon F-1 feels like you could use it to hammer nails ... Canon* is not my thing nor is Nikon, so they will be traded away a the next big swap.

There was a "Nikon freak" vendor that had a M 85/2 which was "too pricey" for me. Maybe he will like my F3 combo ... I would trade pretty quick.

* NB : I like my Canonet range finder collection ...
I would recommend to keep at least the F-1, as it is IMO one of the best professional cameras ever made in terms of quality.

Mine also has the Canon FD 55mm f1.2 lens, all together they are in 1.35 kg range and I don't use them often because of the weight, but in terms of mechanical smoothness is better than my F2s.

This is my F-1 "exploded":

I am not familiar with these early Canons. If it is as good as the F2, that is very good, because the F2 appears to have been built to a standard, not a price.

IMO in terms of mechanical feel it's better than the F2, also the viewfinder is brighter and the ball plus needle lightmeter easier to see (sometimes I have problem seeing the lightmeter inside the DP-11 and DP-12 finders), on the other side the F2 is more peculiar looking, it offers shutter speed and aperture reading inside the finder and has more accessories.

Both camera were built to a standard where money was not a concern, the F-1 feels slightly better made.

This is my "exploded" 1977 F-1n:

Stupid question but how come the thrift store charges such low prices for cameras? Don't they have Google? And who donates the stuff? Here in Norway people tend to try to sell such items online and they set fantasy prices on the items. Often refering to similar fantasy prices on ebay.
I know what you mean. Flea market browsing yesterday, I only came across a busted Praktica and a rusted Spotmatic. Each was priced higher than what Jean paid for that entire lot. (And hence remained unpurchased.)

Which is to say: Jean, you have my undying jealousy.

Unlike the Canon F-1, the Nikon F2 has no metering when using the plain prism. The XK has a meterless prism but it is still not streamlined.

The Canon F-1 is large compared to the New F-1.

IMO the monster lens (FD55mm f1.2) makes the difference:

This was an Ebay purchase. $350, which is pretty low for a 2.8

I'm a very happy man today. All for $50.00

This image came from the Craigslist ad. https://pensacola.craigslist.org/pho/5088101665.html

The paper and timer alone are worth it by a mile IMO. A Nikkor 50mm 2.8 on the enlarger as well. The seller had it listed for $99 then $79, by time I got there it was $49.
