I havent posted in a long time, apparently I golf to much. I'm on vacation though and I found this for $60. It is in absolutely perfect condition, but I cant get the film advance to move, I imagine the shutter is frozen but if theres a trick that I dont know of let me know please.

If the wind mechanism is linked to the shutter, and the shutter is gunked up and frozen, then you will need to unstick the shutter.
Obviously the best plan would be to let a competent repair facility have a go at it, and spend the money.

If that is not an option you want to try first, then you can use a few drops of lighter fluid to help loosen the old lube and gunk.

If that does not free up the mechanisms, then my next step would be the stuff I have used on my last two old leaf shutter cameras. I went to an auto parts store and bought an aerosol can of brake parts cleaner. That stuff has a powerful jet spray and the solvents clean out grease and gunk very fast and leaves no residue. It often cleans so well that the shutter must be relubed. Generally that requires some disassembly, which kinda puts you back into a competent repair facility.

BEFORE you start taking stuff apart, or squirting stuff at your camera, you might look for a film release button. This is apparently a 135 film camera, which means it may be at the end of a roll, or thinks it is.

Son of gun! You're right. I'm usually good at catching those. Wedding ring on the wrong side is always a good trick. Nice catch. Stand by.

I don't recognize that camera, but that port or fixture at the top left end looks like Canon design. The Pellix had meter connection there, other models had a PC socket with a cover.

Interesting... I don't remember ever seeing a Canon around but this was several years before I came along and more until I started forming memories.

Well, Colton - that CV Color Skopar is just as dainty as you described. This photo makes it appear larger than it actually. Lovely little thing and the focusing tab is a joy to use.

Something wrapped in a LOT of plastic! The case looks a lot like the one for my Mamiya/Sekor 1000 DTL, but the camera is not a match. I'm stumped.

I was looking carefully at images of the Yashica. It had two PC sockets along the top left (an old FP synch toward the back). Also, in the picture of the mystery camera there appears to be either a rotatable dial or at least a larger metal disk below the rewind crank, but there isn't one on the Yachica TL Electro X.

I think you were on the right track, Steve. My dad just remember he shot a Mamiya-Sekor all through the end of highschool and it may have been that cam in the photograph. Maybe one of the TL series? I'm looking around now.

The silly part is there's a good chance this and all my grand-dad's cameras are still stuffed away in a box somewhere, maybe in the attic or workshop, but no one really knows where. heheh... I think there's a Leica or two hiding with them. I know he shot those in the earlier days.

... Update - well that may have been premature because it's also possible my dad would have shot that picture with whatever camera he had at the time. Which leads us to this photo of my dad around the same time, possibly a year or two later, but maybe not...

Ahhhhhh - mystery solved. It's my great-grandfather's land camera.

Whatever the camera is in the christmas shot of my grandfather, my dad is 95% certain it isn't Japanese.

I was thinking the same thing, though the choices are a little more limited and what I see is not matching what I know. Part of the problem is that the camera is still encased in plastic under the case and that is casting all sorts of reflections. One thing that is interesting is the amount of brightwork on the lens.

Definitely not. SFAIK all Contaflex models had the PC socket on the lens barrel (synchro-compur shuters). The camera in the picture has what looks like a PC socket at the upper left end (near end in the picture). That substantially cuts down the number of possibilities (Canon & Yashica had sockets at that spot, some Canons had a pivoting cover over that PC socket and some Yashicas had a large disk here, maybe a battery compartment cover). The odd thing, to me, is the apparent wheel or dial around that socket. Cannot make out if that is part of the camera or an odd reflection from unremoved packaging.

How about a Beseler Topcon Super D? This doesn't sound Japanese but was imported and rebadged. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Topcon_RE_Super Your family sounds like it was very camera aware and the Topcon has a removable viewfinder and focussing screen among other quasi professional features for the time.
According to Wikipedia, Beseler also had a division specialising in shrink wrap plastic packaging - seems to be in evidence here. Just a quick search and comparison online.
