Nice additions. I don't see much of this on eBay myself.

You likely forgot about it because it needed work. That Retina is a very practical pocket 35mm, and the Xenon lens will more than meet one's needs. Send it to Chris Sherlock in NZ.

Hi guys !

Does one of you know if a KX would fit properly in a Spotmatic case ? I've located some original KX case but people won't sell it without the cameras. From what I understand, the KX and KM had the same case. I have two original cases for Pentax cameras, one for the K1000 and one for the K2. The K1000 one is really thin and although I glued it is falling apart, the K2 one is made of hard leather and feels really solid. Of which kind is the KX/KM case ?

The Spotmatic has a different case than the KX/KM, which shared the same case. This case was also used for the original 1976 MIJ K1000...
FWIW, I have been using a Spotmatic case with my KX for several years now and it fits quite nicely. Clearance for the K 55/1.8 is a little tighter than the same case on a Spotty with ST 55/1.8, but it is still quite usable.

Gear P0rn - post it if you got it.

My buddies XD-11 with my 58mm 1.2. My "K" 35mm f2 is off the the right and I think that's a "M"50mm f2. Taken with an MX and a Voigtlander 40mm on some expired Velvia 100. I really do like Velvia 100. {Only have one roll left ;( }Name: ImageUploadedByTapatalk1445416404.674651.jpg

I wonder how many Sony A mount users are shooting with the legacy Minolta lenses as we Pentaxians do?

What's this story? I always thought the K series (besides the K2) used the same case as the Spotmatic...at least this is what I see in the 1976 catalog I own.

There were five different cases in 1975 when the K Series came out:

#7206 ESII
#7121 ES
#7122 Spotmatics/SP1000/SP500/SL
#7372 K2
#7364 KX/KM

Of course it doesn't mean other bodies could not fit into a different case.

This pictures shows a KM/KX case (left) and one for the Spotmatics (right), there is a distinct difference.

Phil.

They were not sold with the same case, but the dimensions are similar enough that the older cases will fit. Think of it as the teenage daughter wearing mom's clothes and vice versa. Neither was the original intent, but both work.

Interesting, I have a similar case to the left one but with a long "nose" for photo lenses, still on the K catalog I have the generic K is the one on the left, if you want I can try to scan that catalog.

Question for the elderly experts of this board: the Mamiya 645E came with a mysterious Kodak 120mm roll, expired in 2001:

It's yellow and blue and marked E100VS

What's that? Ektar? C41 or E6?

Ektachrome (E6)

Apparently VS means 'vivid' and 'saturated'...

Do you think it's worth of trying to develop such an old E6 roll?

The other day, a nice and inexpensive SV (body only) came my way.

Contrary to conventional wisdom, it has a 6-digit serial number (= older model) but an orange R on the rewind knob (= newer model with the mirror modification).

Maybe the part has been replaced. As I suspected, and confirmed with careful testing, the mirror does indeed collide with the 8-element Super-Takumar 1.4/50mm. What a pity. Other than that, I'm really happy with it.
Camera portraits shot on K-5 ii with Voigtlander 125mm Macro at f/3.5, each stacked from 4 frames using ZereneStacker.
