It work fine on any A mount body that can countrol aperture without aperture ring
Well, ok, at 18mm, when I put my 18-55 kit lens on my spotmatic, I got a large round crop on the film. It's the definition of a "crop lens": that it doesn't cover the full 35mm frame. So, not so useful in it's full zoom range. And the MX isn't an A-mount body.

Of course it's not usefull from 18 to 55. but it works perfectly from 24 to 55. Which is quite good in itself for a FF.

Indeed. Still, a good 24-55 mm f4-5.6 is always usefull on A mount body.

Occasionally I put my 18-55mm DSLR kit lens on my P3n film body.
I am generally incredibly unimpressed with this combination.

Though I have discovered a way to semi-kinda control the aperture with my P body.

I aim the lens at a scene with a brightness that is likely to give me the aperture and shutter i might be happy with, then use the m-lock to set that exposure. It almost kinda works. :-)

I'm sure you know all of this anyway, and this was probably just a joke. Sorry to have taken it seriously.
Indeed it was

If you only shoot wide open anyway, it doesn't matter if you can't control the aperture, does it?

well, if you can't countrol the aperture, the body will always push the lever all the way down to f22-32. So in fact, it matters a lot

Pics?
Since you asked, here's the M4 and 90mm TeleElmarit I bought together new in 1968, and have continued to use. The camera is in front of my engagement picture from 30 years ago, taken with the same camera. I finally had it through a CLA a few years ago, and it works like new.

I've used my DA 18-55 on my MZ-L and IMO it actually produced very good results.
The DA 16-45 also works very well and makes a great 21-45mm f/4 zoom on film.

P&S collection

I think outside of US this was known as Espio Mini & came in black.

Underneath this was basically an Olympus Stylus AF

Old fashioned Zone Focus - I think these were the models for Lomo LC-A
The original Cosina CX-1

The CX-2 w/winder

The Sardine Can - Fujifilm tiara II

The strangely named Konica's Big Mini

Clam Shell designed trio from Olympus - The XA is a rangefinder and the others are Zone Focusing

The old C35

And the S3

What! You need to find that person and throw him off your balcony! And take sequential shots of him falling onto the pavement like a ripe tomato.

Well, the C35 took mercury battery and apparently a zinc air hearing aid battery will work fine with the metering - however it won't last as long. I need to find them at a drug store and pull a roll through the old C35.

To be fair, it only cost me $3

How do you find the S3?

Whoa! $3 for a C35! A button cell battery costs more than that!

The S3 is weird w/shutter priority automatic exposure. So you set the shutter speed you want to use and the needle inside the viewfinder shows what aperture the camera will automatically set to. The lens is a fast f/1.8 & 38mm same as C35 - great for street photo grab shots. It also took mercury cell which is banned for environmental reason. The CdS photocell for metering is right above the lens so you can use ND, polarizer and b&w correction filters and camera reads exposure automatically. I need to find a zinc air battery and take it for a spin.

They certainly have a similar shape, though that Chinon's viewfinder cover is definitely a unique feature.
