Lovely lens. Looks in good condition. Totally automatic, light-meter dependent I believe.

Not exactly an antique rarity, but look what my wife got for almost nothing at a flea market! We have two ME Supers and one LX already, but this one has AF and works properly with lenses without an aperture ring:

A recent thrift store find for only 3€ ... I think that it was priced at 7€, but so badly written, it looked like a "3" ... xpost

A French Semflex "Standard B" 6x6 with full leather case ... the view finder is a SOM Berthiot 75/2.8 lens and the film lens is a SOM Berthiot 75/3.5 ... plus a Semflex push-on yellow filter came with it. The shutter speeds below 1/25th are horribly slow and off, but who cares for the price ... happy camper and a roll of 120 B&W soon for this one for the kicks.

I see the viewing lens is 75/2.8, but can't quite make out the aperture on the taking lens. 75/3.5?

i visited my niece and nephew in Richmond this weekend. They just bought, a white K-50. Then when i was showing them My KR-30sp, MX and A-100 that I brought along, they said the MX looks like the camera they found in the woods. Then showed me a camera bag with a Spotmatic, a 200mm, 55mm lens, and an A50 1.4!!! There was also a crispy Canonet in the bag... I made the updates to the custom menues to use the manual lens on the K-50. Well the spottie is toast; water damage. the lenes are fine, So I ended up leaving there without my MZ-7, Now I need to find another or a MZ/ZX-5n to replace it also I will be sending her my extra Spotmatic.

It's f/3.5.

Same as the Yashica Mats - viewing lens is half a stop faster than the taking lens.

Success!!!!!! (well sort of)

Lots of dust and qute a large chip to the rear glass.
Doesnt show on crop sensor. Not sure how well it would fare on full frame.

Ouch! 😲

Someone used it on a camera that didn't have enough mirror clearance is my guess.

I'm not sure if it had ever been taken off the Spotmatic. I think the user may have been heavy handed and slammed it in to the lens mount and not even realised. Own/owned quite a bit of M42 glass and NEVER seen this before. Shame because it kinda halves the resale value. These things sell in excess of £100 GBP normally
Theres one on Ebay UK. Buyer wants £199 plus £8 postage for it

The BC 3 has arrived:

It looks unused and brand new, probably the unwanted gift for a teenager in the late 80s or early 90s, it came with a strap that was never installed, a bag, quite a lot of accessories including the original warranty.

The BC3 is the sister of the Jenaflex so basically a Praktica BC1 with a small grip and it was produced for a brief time in 1987 before the arrived of the Flash TTL capable BX20, I like these cameras, they are slightly smaller than a LX but all the controls are the same.

While not as well built as a Pentax they are capable camera and they also have AE lock unlike the LX!
