can anyone tell me the difference between this thread and the Your latest acquisition - PentaxForums.com

are they just co existing or what?

what should be posted here ?
This thread is meant to be for film gear only (for the most part), whereas the Latest Acquisition thread is more general.

there is one difference between the threads that I have noticed

this one doesn't appear to use the SMU established by Pepperberry Farm to show scale

I didn't know there was a latest acquisition thread... As I'm only really interested in seeing pictures of older, film gear, I lurk around here.

Ha ha! I'm afraid those won't last long enough for me to take picture as I have an insatiable sweet tooth. Quite literally I am down to one tooth because of my love for sweets!

currently there is a dispute as to whether it is " kosher " to reuse the SMU or whether the SMU must be consumed after the photo has been posted

I reuse mine

Compare that to a Canon FD 55/1.2, and the big glass doesn't seem so big anymore
But then I compare it to my collapsible Summicron and it's positively enormous...

Look back at the very early M39 mount 50mm f3.5 collapsible Elmar.

Agreed. And I like the collapsible Elmar as a reference because it was one of the sharpest 50mm lenses ever made. Far as that goes, though, compare it to the lenses found in any number of P&S cameras that are tiny in comparison.

As for small size, the one that impresses me is the Samyang fish-eye for MFT compared to fish-eyes for FF or APS-C, and it's performance is really good. It's a great bargain lens.

Very nice. Now you just need a 0.95 lens.

haha... I'd be happy with an f/2 or f/1.8... for now I'll stick with my Industar-61 L/D and Voigtlander Color-Skopar 35/2.5
I have a really nice Jupiter-8 50/2, but it doesn't seem to want to mount on the Canon 7.

I am somehow both surprised and not. I'd have thought it would be difficult to make an m39 lens that would mount on some cameras but not others.
