wkraus, have you double-checked to make sure that the front standard is all the way out and locked into place?

I have an old Moskva 5, which is more or less a copy of the Zeiss Super Ikonta C, and it takes great photos, but I always have to make sure that one of the struts is pushed all the way out and locked in place, or else my images are soft in one corner. Other than this, I don't know what else to suggest. If that isn't it -- and I'm just guessing here -- but a repair tech will probably use a ground glass to focus an image and then adjust the strut(s) until the proper focus is achieved. This may be something you can do. You can use Scotch transparent tape to duplicate a ground glass and then hold the shutter open using T, or B with a locking cable release. Then you should be able to narrow in on where the problem lies at least.

Yes I have, unfortunately that痴 not the reason. I also do not see any adjustable parts, but I probably have to go and see a repair tech as you suggest. Thanks for commenting!

Let me strongly recommend that you need either a 28mm f3.5 or a 35mm (I知 partial to the f2.0, but I know some here like the slower one). 🙂

I値l probably look for a 35 f-something, I prefer 35 to 28. I値l also look for a short tele like 85 or 100.

The SMC 100mm f/4 macro is a superb lens and can sometimes be found for reasonable.

The 35/3.5 - any iteration - is a little jewel, sharp as a tack and the colors are beautiful.

Thanks I have a 35/3.5 on the way and a 105/2.8 from a user here. Unfortunately the Spotmatic has a fatal flaw. The film advance slips when there is a little drag. My test roll was filled with overlapping and double frames. It will probably be heading out for repair soon. The SV so far seems less problematic assuming I can accurately guess exposure.

I'm afraid not (I'm not very "handy"). Luckily both of mine worked fine.

Somehow I missed your post. Thanks for answering anyway!

Can't go wrong with those two, they're beautiful optics. I have them in the K version and apparently the optical design was kept the same on these and a few others.
Hope repairs on the body work out well so you can enjoy them too.
