was serviced by Eric last year.
Nice kit! I bid on a battery checker a short while ago but didn't go high enough to win. Maybe it was the same auction?

The motor drives come in a chrome and a all black version. But I can't say I've seen black body versions of the camera body except for the ES II.

Very shallow depth-of-field shot of my old Miranda Sensomat RE, one of a few recent tests of my Sigma f4-5.6 70-300mm DL Macro Super + Pentax K-R, using onboard flash.

Black KX MD was discussed in this thread awhile back. Pentax KX motor drive camera - PentaxForums.com. But black Spotmatic MD is unknown, at least to me.

I love their logo... made it into a simple decal for my car's hatch window... I doubt many folks get what it represents.

Nice find in the back aisle bargain rack. Hefty Kiron 28-85 2.8-3.8. Typical Kiron beefy build.

The focus barrel would definitely leave an “impression.” Thanks for the new vocabulary addition, cosh!

I got one of these Mirandas recently but something's off in the focusing and I need to have a look at where the problem is. I should really have returned it but too late now.

I got mine in a lot of photo items that included only one item I really wanted, not at the time the Miranda, but it is a pretty and well-made camera. Mine is sluggish on the slowest speeds, so I shot a test roll using the faster speeds and it turned out fine. It came with two versions of the normal lens and a Miranda T-mount adapter, so I have somewhat limited options for using lenses with it.

I was thinking that I had seen a pricey Miranda adapter for m42 lenses appears on 'bay from time to time, but, after thinking about it, I realize that adapter was for Petri cameras--I picked up a problematic Petri body in that same lot!

Do you think your focusing problem is with the camera body or the lens?

It's the camera body. When at the infinity hard stop on either of the lenses I have (35mm and 50mm) the view in the viewfinder never quite reaches infinity and that's visible in the split prism. From memory, it happens with both of the viewfinders I have (eye level and waist level) so the problem is somewhere in the body, not lenses or viewfinders. My best guess would be the mirror.
