I am sure she enjoyed it as much as i did. It really makes you stop and think about what you are doing regarding framing and exposure, and that is no bad thing at all.

That M150/3.5 is a pretty special lens too. I imagine it enjoyed a day let out of the drawer.

I am sure it did. I took additionally my M 50mm 1.4 and M 20mm 4.0. I used a yellow filter (b+w film). Luckily i used the 20mm last as i had a problem to deal with when I was finished. On the 20mm lens I use a generic wide angle hood which requires a 58/49 step ring which I screwed into the front thread of the filter. Disassembly time and the step ring has fixed itself firmly to the filter thread. No amount of fiddling and swearing would part them. If this had happened when I started i would have not been able to use the filter on the 150 and be able to pull the built in hood out. Or use the filter on the 50mm and use its own hood for that.

A Camera Club member gave my his 60 year old [B]Voigtlander Vito B[B] with ER case, Hood , 'Bewi' meter. I have never had one of those. However, on loading with a 'Test Film' I found there was a 'Premature Shutter Release Fault. where the shutter would fire at end of wind-on action NOT with proper release. I cleaned all the leather with 'Neatsfoot Oil' and strap was very dry. Now after many posts on 'forums' a kind Yank on Photrio Forum suggested it may be the cable release plunger 'stuck' down, so i investigated and fitted a cable release and shutter fired, then when I wound on shutter did NOT fire until I pressed proper button -- just tested it with flash also. Outdoors shutter fired prematurely once but then correctly -- hope problem in solved .

Very nice! I keep meaning to try out Caffenol. Probably once my bottle of Rodinal gets low.

It was funny trying to find the stuff. The Ascorbic acid was the hardest to find, until I found a "Nature's Grocery" or some such store. They had a huge section of supplements and powders. It was also the most expensive at about $14. The washing soda was at the Family Dollar store for a couple of bucks. Some of the recipes call for potassium bromide that I don't think I can find locally. Its main use seems to be an anti convulsant for dogs. I have a roll ready and waiting to develop this weekend.

New toy. I don't know if I'll like the TLR experience, but I want to try it, and this was way, way cheaper than a Rollei.

I very quickly shot and developed my first roll, and it looks good (not the compositions, they were done quickly for testing.). The interesting thing is exposure looks pretty darn good, and I used a 1.5v silver battery for the meter. Before I developed, sunny 16 and the meter matched exactly, so I suspect the meter was already adjusted for 1.5v.

The focusing screen is a little dim and has no focusing aids, so if I like it otherwise I may replace the screen. There are $20 cheap Chinese screens on eBay or a nice $80 screen from Rick Oleson with my choice of lines scribed on it.

Here's one that Eric declined as irreparable. I sent it to Mark Hama in Georgia. Mark had it for a very long time but would not give up on it. $173 and 15 months later and she's good as new. Back in my hands for about 6 hours now, I can't wait to run some film through her.

Wow! I did not know Mark Hama was still doing camera repair. I have a Yashica Lynx 1000 that I would like fixed.

You may want to contact him sooner rather than later about it. There's no telling how long he will continue. It seems that all of the most trusted repairmen have all been retiring here lately.

Welcome to Mark Hama Ltd.

TLRs need a bit of getting used to if you're accustomed to SLRs or digital cameras, but I find using my two 124Gs a very rewarding experience.
