Can't recall if I've posted a photo of this setup before.

MY SOVIET LENS STABLE:

MIR-1B f/2.8 37mm, HELIOS 44-2 f/2 58mm, VEGA 12B f/2.8 90mm, and, not to be forgotten, the LOMO T-22 (coated triplet) f/4.5 75mm taking lens on my Lubitel 2 twin-lens reflex.

I am sure we've all done it once or more . . .

It never dawned on me to adopt my Nikkor onto a Canon body before. Is that a glassless - or with glass, to achieve infinity focus?

I've scrunched a Nikkor lens onto a Pentax DSLR to take a few pictures. I kept my hand on the lens, since it barely twisted into the mount and wasn't secure, but it worked (manually) with no focus issues.

MY ENLARGER LENS STABLE:

Polish-made AMAR S f/4.5 105mm, mounted on bellows, and (West) German-made SCHNEIDER-KREUZNACH COMPONON F/5.6 80mm, mounted on cheap focusing helicoid. Both have infinity focus, plus as much magnification as these focusing assemblies allow (sorry, I haven't measured either's max reproduction ratios).

Interesting, I have both but I am using a FD50mm f1.2 on the F-1 and the S-C is dedicated to my F2AS.

Glassless but still achieves infinity focus. FD mount is probably about 3-4mm shorter than F.

TBH I'd rate the F-mount adapter as the worst of the 3 FD adapters I've used, but I like the lens and don't want to invest in yet another camera system.

Are there mirror clearance concerns?

None with the 50/1.4. Maybe with some of the wider lenses, but I'd be surprised if there are any.

I have been using this one lately. It satisfies me on several counts. As a 1958 model, it is fully manually controllable, it is compact, and arguably the highest quality rangefinder Yashica built (their first production out of their factory). The Yashinon lens is known for its fine renditions. While my Yashica Lynx 5000 has a superb 1.8 lens and a light meter, its build quality doesn't match the original "35"

I have a Chinese made Nikon lens to Canon FD body adapter I bought off eBay several years ago. It has worked fine with all Nikkors I've tried, except my AIs 24mm f/2.8. There's something on the back of that lens that prevents the breechlock ring from turning far enough to secure the lens. I can hold it onto the camera if I must. But this is no big loss, since my Canon 24mm is a better lens than the Nikkor anyway. Far as that goes, my Tamron 24/2.5 is a better lens than that Nikkor, which is notoriously unsharp in the corners.

I bought the adapter, figuring that one day I might have a Nikkor that I had no equivalent Canon FD or Tamron to match, but so far that day hasn't materialized. Maybe one day I'll get an AIs 180mm f/2.8 ED, where I can actually see using a Nikkor that Canon didn't make an equivalent of. Unless I find a deal on the Tamron 180/2.5, in which case . . . never mind.

This KX was a As-Is on KEH - needed a meter, CLA & light seals. Was able to pick up another As-Is KX from KEH that had a working meter, though poor shape otherwise. Just finished it this afternoon, meter is accurate, shutter speeds are good and everything else works. Cosmetically it's in great shape and has a split prism focus screen. The cost: $47 and about 7hrs of time. My first camera when I came back to film was KX, sold it when I went to a MX, think I'll be keeping this one.

The KX and MX are to me, the top of the list. The LX is just too complex and expensive to maintain. (I have an immaculate LX but have only used it once as I prefer a fully manual camera)

The KX & MX are both fine cameras, but to be honest the K2 is by far my favorite. The Super A and MZ-S get used almost as much as the K2, but the MX usually only gets used when I need a smaller camera. Too many cameras, not enough time........

A black KX was the first SLR I ever owned in 1977 and I still have it. Your is beautiful, and split-image is a treat. I use my KX as much as all my other active film cameras combined - LX, MX and MZ-S are my active cameras - but I never have bonded with the K2. I have a K2DMD that is fun, but I rarely choose it for an outing. I really only keep the MZ-S for use with the FA Limiteds.
