Steve

I've only dabbled somewhat in the Minolta system so I'm certainly no expert but it appears that Rokkor lens prices have had upward pressure in recent years. Most of the bodies, including XE-7 are available for reasonable and even rather low cost. I believe there is compatibility of Minolta mount with the recent Sony mirrorless and possibly others. So no one appears willing to hand over the once stranded lenses for very low prices. As a result some of the most populars Rokkors (MD 35/2.8, MC 58/1.2, MD 85/2, and others) are priced beyond the passing interest of those not dedicated to Minolta or Sony.
I can only afford a limited number of premium lenses so I will remain focused on Pentax.

Very nice! The K28/3.5 was my first wide angle lens, still going strong after all these years.

Phil.

Beautiful. I had one of these for a few years but about 1985, after buying the 30/2.8 at a clearance price when the A series was new, I sold it instead of keeping both. Could not afford to be a collector then. I have been eyeing them again.

Such a pretty machine!

Do you know if the Plaubel and Agfa actually had the same industrial designer?

Thank you !
You may find some answers from 35mmc site.

It appears that Udo Geissler who did the redesign of the Makina 67, for Konica, has given the design to or inspired his colleague (from the industrial design department at Munich University) professor Norbert Schlagheck from the design firm Schlagheck & Schultes.

But the photos show an Agfa Optima 1035 which is not a rangefinder camera contrary to the 1535 model !

It is an incredible lens , I can't believe it is a +40 years old design.

"Beast" is the best descriptor for it, yeah.

What's strange is I like shooting it more (so far at least). It is SO big that it literally rests perfectly into my entire palm, and my finger can ride the edge of the lens barrel then just reach back a little to pull focus. The focus ring is a lighter touch than on the Pentax so it's quicker as well. That could just be slightly broken down grease in the helical, but I've no plans to address it cuz I just love the touch it has right now. But yeah... I thought the K50/1.2 was a monster hunk-o-glass. Not so. Hahah.

Oh. And it's the older version (cheaper) so it's got thorium.
Radioactive, baby. Radioactive. lol

That is an extremely envy evoking set of pictures
