Congrats on the purchase, the 6x7 is definitely a step up size wise (they both have their own plusses and minuses). There are no user differences between the 6x7 MLU and a 67. The ME lever is interesting but not covered in either manual.

Thank you, very helpful.

Ansco No. 10

No. 10 Ansco, Model A., around 1907, made 3 1/4 x 5 1/2 inch negatives on 122
roll film (next to a 120 spool for comparison). Had front Rise/Fall and Swing
capabilities. Interesting film option was Vidil Focusing Film, a roll film
with alternating parchment and film sheets. Wind the film until the parchment
sheet was in place, open the back and open the shutter. Focus and compose on
the parchment, then close the back and shutter. Wind the film into place, and
take the photo. A clever idea, but not a popular one, the film was only
marketed for 4 years.

A clever idea for sure, but one that sounds remarkably complicated in terms of production.

I haven't been able to find any photos of a roll, but the patent is online for anyone curious as to how it worked: www.vintagephoto.tv/patentviewer.html?f=p762816&c=3

From the given description it sounds like it was effectively pieces of sheet film & opaque covers for them attached to a red-dyed translucent strip.

And in using it , I wonder how many shots were ruined by failing to close the shutter before winding to the film sheet.

Also, I suspect the image visible at the back was very dim = OK for framing but extremely difficult to use for focusing.

Nice! I have a #3A folding Kodak that also takes 122 film. The film size dates from before most prints were enlarged and 122 was used to make standard sized postcards from contact prints. Some people have used adapters to fit 120 film in these cameras so they can try them - but of course only for cropped images. Besides a #2 (120 size) folding Kodak I also have a vest pocket folder that takes 127 film. You can cut down 120 to fit 127, but it’s hard to cut anything to spool up to 122!

Just had an Auto-Takumar 55mm f/2.2 lens repaired so I had a suitable lens for my SV. Almost finished my first roll of Ektar.

I think they expected you to focus with an old-style black cloth.

Compact, neat convenient layout, elegant design and something forgotten, an instruction manual the entirety of which can be remembered after one read-through.

Was able to pick up this AF280T from someone two towns over.
Sat in a cupboard for over two decades but works perfectly.

I used two of those in the film era. The battery compartment cover could be troublesome*, but otherwise it was a very good thyrister strobe. Independent reviews rated very well.

*Who would think that Pentax could not design a battery compartment cover that stayed closed?
