I'm no stranger to hybrids as I've owned the Camry and Highlander hybrids and my wife now has the CRV hybrid. My motivation for getting the electric car was simply because it was saving me about $4600 annually just on the gas for my commute.

Low serial number puts it circa ~1961

Thanks,
I was having a sort out / tidy up a few weeks ago and was a bit taken aback to find I have a H1a, an S1a, an H2, H3 and S3... Two of them I know I got as part of a "spares or repairs" bundle for another body I needed, but I don't remember where the other three came from. I suppose I ought to send them off and get them cleaned-up and working, or declared DOA.

H1a.

That was my second Pentax body, specifically a "Honeywell Pentax H1a." After it was stolen I got a Spotmatic, the original version without a shoe atop the pentaprism. I still have it with the f1.4. The meter has long since died, the diaphragm blades are sluggish reopening (they loosen with exercise - just like me), but the shutter speeds sound reasonable. No idea what to do with it. I'll have to offer it here for the price of shipping.

I see them.

Berlin, from what I recall, is ORWO N74.

Thanks. Must be Chrome being, well chrome...

I've shot a few rolls before. Much nicer results metering at 200 rather than 400.

Is that the 35/2 Super Takumar? I used to have that lens in STak along with the hood and case, but I sold it off...

Yup, I have the case too somewhere. It is a bit yellow, I need to put it out in the sun.

I wasn't too impressed with the shots some friends had taken at 400, but I may have to try that and see if I like what I get.

I bought some on a whim when I saw it on special offer. There are a few images from it on my Ipernity feed.

This arrived today from Switzerland.

Paid only 17 USD + shipping for it. Looks really clean. Included is the AF400T included two battery holders.

One of my favorite cameras is this Rollei 35. I found it in a junk bin at a local camera store (probably late 1980s) for $25. On my drive home I get the shutter to fire...turns out the problem was they meshed a metal gear with a plastic gear on the winder lever and the plastic was stripped. I was able to get a brass replacement from Rollei and the camera has work great ever since.

Once I was at a local BBQ spot that had live entertainment... Duke Robilard, a blues guitarist, was playing. I had my Rollei and took a few shots and he was eyeballing me the whole time...I'm thinking he's pissed I'm taking unauthorized pictures. After the set he comes over to me and says "Hey is that a Rollei 35?". Turns out he's a camera collector himself. I direct him to the camera store where I got it (Hendrick's Photo) and told him they had allot of consignment items.
A week goes buy and I stop in Hendrick's and talk to the owner... "Hey a guy came here Saturday and said you sent him...he bought a few cameras and one was your Exakta". I had a few Exaktas there on consignment...pre eBay days...

1956 Rolleiflex 2.8D

This is a single owner 2.8D Planar that I recently purchased from a local gent selling on behalf of his recently passed Godfather. One of those rare positive experiences with local classifieds. Spent half an hour chatting to the seller about Frank Hurley's visits to Antarctica and PNG, and the general fantasticness of screwmount Pentax's, before settling on a price that left everyone happy.

The camera had obviously been well used and well cared for, but likely sitting in a cupboard for the last 20 years. I ran a test roll through to make sure everything was working (surprisingly it was) and then sent it away to Mr Vic Plant for a thorough clean and service. It's once again working like a finely tuned German TLR
