The black K2 (DMD or not) has to be one of the best looking Pentaxes ever made.

I agree 100%. Any of the K series in black is nice but the K2 somehow look more serious and solid.

I think it may be to do with the fact that it's a slightly different shape to the KM/KX/K1000 with a lower shoulder; almost half-way to the ME/ME Super - but solid indeed.

I've had some nice results with the APX films, especially the 100.

I agree. APX 100 is very nearly as good as FP4+. I remember it being really easy to find in shops (and at a great price) when I was in Germany a few years back. I thought "wow, I wish it was this easy to buy quality film back home".

Both the APX films are surprisingly cheap in Aus (about 35% cheaper than Ilford/Kodak) so I’m really hopping I like them

Is the new APX the same as Kentmere?

I really liked the old stuff (especially the 25, which felt really exotic), but I've heard the new stuff isn't as nice.

I don't know is the short answer. Sorry.

That is the word on the street, Kentmere 100 made by Ilford. One thing is certain is that it is APX 100 in name only and dissimilar to the old APX 100. (Except for the amazing curl of the old APX 100, I really miss the stuff.)

Revueflex 5005 with Vivitar 55mm f/2.8 macro
by Jonathan MacDonald, on Flickr

This combo weighs around 1.075kg. Quite hefty but feels good in the hand.

KR-10 Super with databack

I got this recently, almost by accident, but I didn't know it had the databack...

I've seen lots of cameras with databacks... but I've never seen one that has a stopwatch built in to it...

It does the normal calendar (1978 - 1999) or time, too... and it conveniently uses the same kind of batteries for the databack as for the main camera.

Unfortunately, focus on the 50mm f2 is completely jammed. I haven't run film through it to see if the back works, but it all seems to so far...

Pretty cool... though it looks like the kind of thing a real Ricoh fan would like, so I may see if I can find a fan (are these scarce? that bay place doesn't seem to have any) and then look for a plain one.
