p.s. that camera part is totally reusable/reloadable. Nothing was broken taking it apart, that piece of plastic that holds the film cartridge in just pops off, snaps back on.
So I'm gonna have a whole stack of reusable single speed/aperture 110 cameras.
I have a 110 camera that is made like that.
It is meant to work as a keychain...
I got it in high school and think I've maybe shot two rolls through it?
I wasn't impressed with the picture quality...

When I look at this stuff I really hope it was recycled/reused instead of thrown in the trash when people sent in their cameras for developing.

When I worked in a lab, we recycled all of them.
I don’t know if they got sent to Kodak/Fuji or if they went to a third party for reuse, but we were paid per camera IIRC.

A couple of the Konica ultra wides may have been reused by me

And I also tried one of the portrait disposables. It was pretty horrible.

Nice!
Was the term 'disposable' official, or coined by the press? As that's not really accurate given you recycled them.
It's single use nowadays.

I think they were all officially "single use", and Fuji and Kodak both pushed their recycling/reuse efforts.

The portrait camera was so bad, I can't imagine they ever sold enough to recycle many...

It was Max 800 film with something like a 80mm f10 lens or something crazy like that. And the range of the flash barely covered where it would focus, IIRC.

I wouldn't have been surprised if the lens had used a modified meniscus lens from an old Kodak 116 folder, just adapted for an acrylic element...

That's pretty cool. I didn't know much a thing ever existed. You try taking pictures with the cameras?

Shot many 110 film with a plastic Kodak back when and was pleasantly surprised when I managed to scan them on my Coolscan! Now I see there's actually a 110 film holder for the Coolscan that would have made the process less tedious!

I did. And it was a complete failure. The film was totally blank. Guess film from 1989 that perhaps was stored in someone's furnace room was a bridge too far!
I've had very successful results from other film that age, just not this one.

But... I can see the camera works just fine. When I push the shutter button, I can see the shutter/aperture open appropriately so the camera is totally useable.

Perhaps some of the other 12 rolls of film are useable but personally I wouldn't. I do now have 13 cameras, (12 with film) if anyone is interested!

Well the 'disposable' Kodak Fling110 camera works surprisingly well if you shoot in good light

Don't think I've posted this before (if I did it was a while ago). Old photo.
