I've heard really good things about the Skopar (uncoated though it is), so I hope I can figure out how to get the shutter apart to clean it.

I have my grandfather's second generation Vito. Its still going strong and only ever had one service (Ed from Leicester in the UK) nine or ten years ago. The Skopar lenses are very nice.

Asahi Pentax S and Takumar 35/f4

The 35/f4 is a new addition and joins the Takumar 55/f2.2 and 135/f3.5 to complete my early M42 kit. Pentaxians may know that this lens was likely Japan's first SLR wide-angle.

Both the AP-S and 35/f4 were only made for about a year, before being replaced by the hugely popular AP-K and 35/f3.5 respectively.

My first 35mm camera was a Pentax S with f2.2 Takumar. I never had the 35mm f4, but I did have a 135mm f3.5 preset which I thought had excellent image quality.

The camera and lens are lovely, but the job you did photographing them is gorgeous. Love that razor-thin DOF. Please tell us what you shot this with and the exposure particulars. Well done!

Thank you!

Nothing fancy, just a Nikon Z6 and the Nikkor S 50/f1.8. Shot wide open and close to the minimum focussing distance. It’s a cracking lens.

The bokeh was provided free of charge by our apricot tree

Just wandered across this shot of my old reliable, who has had a sticky shutter for nearly 3 years of neglect now. Really need to get it back up to snuff. I've got 2 other MX bodies, but this warhorse has seen more rolls of film than most of my many others combined. Just never got around to it partially cuz it'd been CLA'd not 2 years prior by Eric and then I left it in the car accidentally several times in both boiling summer heat, and later freezing temps (like idiot)... The price my favorite pays for always being in the car with me (and again, me being an idiot). I also started shooting Konica a year or more beforehand so she kinda got snubbed. I feel bad.

My dad was in Korea from 1952-54, and he carried a Pony while he was there, so I'm guessing it was a Model A -- dunno whatever happened to it. He shot quite a bit of B&W and Kodachrome, all of which I have now. That Pony did a decent job, especially with the Kodachromes. A couple years back, I picked up a Pony 135, just so I'd have something to go with his photos. Didin't realize there were different models, though. Might have to get another one if I want to be authentic about it.

Been far long since I shot this beauty. Given to me by friend in early 2017.
It's in the queue for shooting soon, but for obvious reasons it's never actually put away but always on a prominent and visible shelf.

I remember, way back (1980's??) a camera repair man commenting that he thought that Roleiflexes were the most beautifully made cameras he worked on, quality craftsmanship in the smallest parts. Beauty that is much more than skin deep.

I've stared at a photo taken of my grandfather on Christmas evening in 1974 holding a camera that was just slightly too hidden to quite make out precisely what it was.
I'm still not sure what it was but a couple folks here thought it could be a Topcon. I think they're correct, but ever since I picked up an IC-1 and loved it more than many thought I should, I've been wanting one from their "real" camera line. It's a thing of beauty to be sure.
