You can download the drivers here...

Minolta Dimage Scan Elite II Scanners > Downloads Free! Drivers

You probably wouldn't want to use the software that came with the scanner, assuming it would even run on whatever OS you have now...

Give VueScan a try.

Lucky you! Yes, it is good. In fact, it is one of the better available on the used market. Too bad you don't have the install CD, though it might be of limited usefulness with the newer 64bit operating systems. Vuescan is always a good option, though it may not provide the full functionality. If you can find a copy of DiMAGE Scan you will probably do better. Vuescan can usually use the TWAIN drivers if you have them, so it is good to download if you can.

Here is a link to KonicaMinolta support for your scanner (manuals and downloads)

I hate to ask. Is the scanner turned on and connected to the computer?

How are you connecting? A Firewire or USB cable?

Vuescan crashes every time I try and use it to scan with my Minolta scan 2 so I've gone back to the original software which works fine. Annoying as I paid for vuescan...

Nothing, of course!! After all, you are using a Mac, are you not?

Sorry, could not resist. I have several friends who are Mac owners and most have had serious problems with their systems in the last year or so.

Try to download the TWAIN driver for the DiMAGE and tell Vuescan to use it.

From time to time there are similar problems with the Minolta Dimage Scan Elite 5400 + Vuescan. Restart helps only. Do not forget to calibrate before scanning.
