I use the 21 liter boxes with two trays - each has 20 compartments 2 7/8 x 3 1/2 x 3 1/8 deep, which fits most lenses. I have a couple that are fatter. For longer lenses I use 1 tray and stand the lenses upright, for the very long I have cut out the partitions between 3 or 4 compartments to make them long so the lenses lay down, and I can use 2 trays per box. I have other 21 liter box's and trays with flash's, filters, teleconverters etc. Then I use the 11 liter boxes that are the same footprint as the 21's and stack together for other stuff like cables, remote switches and all the crap I carry.

Cutting the partitions isn't easy as the material is tough and it's awkward to get in, but one of these oscillating power saw / sanders did a great job with a flush cutting blade.

They really are very good and versatile boxes. Most of the plastic storage boxes you get from supermarkets and discount stores are junk that bends and cracks, these don't, they are made up to a quality and not down to a price.

Yes, a modern building with good insulation and a constant temperature shouldn't have humidity problems, unlike this old place where I've had ice on the inside of the windows, even with the heating on!
I also use a hygrometer that I got from a pet store, they use them for snake tanks apparently, so I can monitor the humidity levels. I manage to keep it just below 40%.
Sounds like you almost need one of those dry cabinets that people use in SE Asia!
