Collecting books for Pentax film cameras: a question...

I have the following book resources:
"The Pentax Way" by Keppler, (8th edition July '74), Amphoto
"Ultimate Asahi Pentax Screw Mount Guide 1952 -1977" by Van Oosten, Uitgeverij Jansz
"Asahi Pentax M and K Models" by Reynolds, Focal Press

Is there any point of getting the book "Asahi Pentax and Pentax Slr 35mm Cameras, 1952-89" by Danilo Cecchi?

It does offer a further decade or so of Pentax history but does it offer any new looks or perspectives? The Reynolds book for example is a catalogue with little review or opinion - Is the Cecchi book much the same?
At about $35 with postage is it worth it?
Unlike the very popular Van Oosten volume, there are lots of copies for sale on the web so people are not holding on to them. Is there a reason for that?

This is a great way of demonstrating the tenor of the book. Thankyou for taking the effort. I am almost convinced.

I like the Cecchi book quite a lot. You should be able to pick up a used one cheap on Amazon.

Look into Carl Shipman's books. I strongly recommend his books. I have a couple of his books a few years apart and it gives a good range of late m42 bodies and bodies into the early 90s. I have one from 1977 and one from 1989. I also have the van Oosten book and the Cecchi book. I also have some things by Fred Sherfy.

Thank you, Les
that is an interesting resource.Have also ordered a Shipman title- Like the web page author, I am particularly looking at the spotmatic and K bodies and Takumar lenses. I really like the Van Oosten title.

The Cecchi book arrived today - As new condition from Speedy Hen in the UK - thank you for recommending the book Nesster and LesDMess. It has the depth I was hoping for. Look forward to really getting into it. Have disposed of my SFXns now and all my other pre digital bodies are discussed- Perfect.

That is a good book and any serious collector should have it. There are a couple of errors and discrepancies in there. When you can find them, you know you are a hard core Pentaxian.

I just received and started reading the "Asahi Pentax and Pentax Slr 35mm Cameras: 1952-1989" by Danilo Cecchi.

I highly recommend it for anyone who wants a better understanding of the classic film cameras. The book does have some typos in it, but I think that is because it was translated from Italian to English.
