Which would you keep?

Need help deciding which film camera to keep. ME Super, Super Program, and Program Plus. Which would you keep of the 3 choices? All 3 functions and none have much of any aesthetic flaws, but i would rate the Program Plus condition above the other 2 w/ the Super program coming in last.

The Program Plus is just a (strongly!) crippled Super Program. Pentax offered it only because the Super Program seemed too expensive for many possible customers. If you own both of them there is absolutely no reason to keep the Program Plus.

Between the Super Program and the ME Super, you should know what is more important.
The ME Super has a better viewfinder and a fully mechanical shutter speed of 1/125 (in case batteries are down).
The Super Program is dead if the batteries are down.
But the ME Super lacks:

DOF preview
Flash TTL metering (extremely important for macro)
Tv and P modes (with "A" lenses)
Display of exposure time on the top
Display of F stop in the viewfinder (Super Program has it, but not for all modes)

I own both of them (and the MX), and would hate to sell any of them. Sadly, I don't do much of film shooting anymore.

I can't tell you exactly about the above, but since I own MX/LX/ME super. I would keep the MX, it has DOF preview and the best viewfinder. ME Super has 2nd best viewfinder, but no DOF preview.
LX has some interesting features, but to me they are not worth the extra 75gm over MX or 125gm over ME

I have all three (and more) and my mostly used is Super A due to flexibility to use DA lenses with it

Why do you have to get rid of any of them?

I had both the super program and the me super, couldn't tell any difference in the viewfinders, both were huge and bright.... I think relying on mechanical speeds isn't important with these cameras. If that is something you care about just get an MX or something older. I like my aperture priority

I don't own the ME Super, but that was my impression as well.

unless you were cash strapped why not keep them all
otherwise sell the program plus and keep the other 2

Agreed. I bought the DA 40 XS just to use on my film cameras, and the Super Program does a great job with it. I have no use for the Program Plus, but the other two cameras on the list are great.

Three film cameras should not be a problem to own. I now have fifty functioning film cameras and love them all.

The Super Program works with DA lenses (Tv- and P-mode only, Av- and M-mode need an aperture ring) and makes a great kit with the DA40 (and DA70).
You won't get much for the ME Super anyway and it makes a great small kit with the M50/1.7 (or M28/2.8, M40/2.8).
If you find one, you could replace the ME Super with an MX...

I voted ME Super, but have to admit I've never used the other two cameras, so maybe I don't count.

I desperately wanted to vote for the ME Super as it was my first film camera and I'm very attached to it for sentimental reasons; it was a gift from my father when I wore a younger man's clothes. That being said, when I think about my shooting history, the keeper in the bunch is the SuperProgram. Hands down.
