You guys really make me dreamed about this Cam... My search for this beauty is over, I purchased K1000 yesterday along with SMC 55/f.2 and PE 2006 national flash. I hope you guys could teach me how to treat them right.

Cheers

No not bad at all.

But just the same try scanning them yourself. I'll bet they are less noisy. I've always noted a noise in CDs mastered in this way. Stopped doing it because of that and the color rendition just did not seem good either. See how somehow there is a pink cast to the sky in the first pictures..? I've seen that before. That's why I asked. I suspected it was processed for you.

I shoot a lot of film still. Like you I love my old manual cameras. I think I've already recommended Fuji Superia Reala to you. Not that expensive and well worth it for things that means something to you. By all means, use cheap stuff to play around, but also get some good stuff for once you are checked out. If you like the results with the cheap stuff...

Looks like your K1000 meter is spot on. Feed it some good film and keep up the good work.

The following were taken with a 1957 Pentax using Fuji Reala and subsequently scanned by me.

That second one, is such a stunning shot

Just got my K1000 today in the mail thanks to a member on this board. I never really shot film before and this is one of my first SLR so I can't wait to try it out.

Here is a pic of my K1000 with the Pentax SMC-M 50mm f/1.4

That's a NICE way to start in film!

Great lens too... I'm a bit jealous

Have fun with it, and please show us what you do with it! :0

I just started using my K1000 again and I love it. Using it with B&W film is perfect for capturing winter in the city.

Here are some images I shot with BW400CN Film..It seems to have a sharper look compared to Tri X but Tri X has a more vintage look about it... I also need to remember to stop down 1/2 stop...I am still learning, but having tons of fun.
I tried a roll of BW400CN on my ME-F and got so much grain I thought I'd set it to 3200 by mistake. Having seen your beautiful shots I think I'll try another roll, this time on my just-acquired K1000 (which already feels like it's bonded to my hand).
I really love your shot of the kitchen in the Mexican restaurant. You've managed to get those tones off the stainless steel bench just perfectly. Very inspiring.

Thank you Wombat. Strange that you would get massive grain from this film. If I have one complaint about BW400CN is that it does not have enough grain.

As for the K1000, it is a rare day that go someplace with out it. Infact I have two and one remains in my car always.

I look forward to seeing your images and would love to see some of those grainy ones.
