expensive and very likely beyond the technological capabilities of the mechanical systems employed at the time. hell im not sure even a modern mechanical could reliably achieve 1/10,000, much less be able to do it for the shutters lifetime.
I believe I read that the maxxum 9 has 1/12000th top shutter speed.

Technically, it is electro-mechanical. Otherwise there is confusion with current electronic shutters on non dslr cameras.

Today I loaded up my newly CLA'd LX with a roll of HP5 and set the ISO to 800. With a 50/1.7 set to f2.8 indoors it felt pretty damned good. If I could only see that split prism a little better....

yes electro mechanical would be the best description, but without the electronic part I highly doubt it could be done efficiently or at all.

Agreed. I just thought it would be good to mention because of the aforementioned systems that are also referred to as electronic shutters on spec sheets but are a completely different beast.

im currently in the process of acquiring an 'AP' myself, though not in as good of a shape as that K (im jeleous) with the Gaussian type 55mm 2,2 which I believe is a bit rare in itself, but gosh, that zebra stripe 55, is probably the one lens I want above all others, and of course to help complete my 55m 1,8 collection
Oh god..."AP"..."S"....that somehow indicates a "set"...can you say "CBA".....now I find myself curious about 55s....sounds like the length is different than the newer TAKs.....a whole new lens set to feed the LBA....

Don't worry, I'm only after the rarer lenses to be period correct with my bodies.

Better that than a 6x7 or a 2x4.

Yeah, those 6x7 Takumars are bigger round than my arm... getting hit by a tele 6x7 gotta hurt. Dropping one on a toe may sever it. The toe I mean...

I have a K1000, Olympus OM-1, and Mamiya 220 that I really like. I have a 67II as well, though it's not really an "older" camera.

Saving for a Leica!

This thread has my CBA kicking in again.

I thought I didn't want a Maxxum 9, or an MX, or an OM-2 anymore....
