Cool. Good that they know there's a bunch of folks with old film lying around!

Glad to see a new 645D made the list. Suggests they know they're onto a great idea (Medium format at a reasonable price)

Macro Q lens sounds...interesting.

Sad to see there's no K-XX, the replacement for a K-50 with the K-3 sensor...

About time, that ought to sell well. Depending on how they price it I'm all over it. And I'll buy a second one for my daughter.

Indeed! I wonder if the image circle is APS-C or FF? AF?

I'm curious whether it'll be slide-only or whether it'll handle strips of film. If the latter, it would provide an alternative to the Lomo film "scanning" rigs. MF/35mm dual functionality is nice.

I've seen picture in other thread they use 2014 645d with the bellow. Is this mean;
1)there will be 2 model, one for 645 and one for k-mount?
2)only one model for both MF and 35mm FF (or aps-c)?

edit: here the link

I would think that the device attaches to the filter ring of a macro lens.

A Copipod had several 'plates' to attaach to lenses of various filter ring diameters. I wouldn't be surprised to find a similar setup for this accessory. And I think I read it is designed for positives and negatives, so there must be some software that goes with it.

Looking at this image from the Ricoh site of the prototype it looks like there are masks for 120, 35mm and perhaps half frame or 110 formats.

click on the link below to see the full sized image.

This seems like a update to the old slide copier attachments for bellows. Since it is used in conjunction with a DSLR body it must not contain a sensor. Whether or not it contains any optics at all remains to be seen.

What does the film duplicator offer over something like this:

A DIY Rig for Scanning Hundreds of Slides In a Hurry | Popular Photography

They feel essentially the same in concept. Granted, I haven't searched for pre-existing solutions on the market from other companies.
