Mirror issues?


Any idea what is going on? It's like I have a black ring around the outside edge of the photo, had several turn out that way from this last roll...

I can't say I have ever seen anything like it so I am guessing that it looks like an extreme case of vignetting. Is this not obvious when you look in the viewfinder but only comes out in the pictures? Where you shooting a lens wide open? What was the body and lens? Was there a lens hood?

I'm shooting an SF1N with a Pentax 18-55, the rest of the roll was fine

The 18-55 doesn't fully cover a film frame at the wider end, and that's what you're seeing.

I'll put a different lens on and try it, just got back into film and will pull out my older lenses...

yup. the 18-55 is a crop frame lens. it might only work at the telephoto end.

I think that it's surprising that it even worked that well as it's a aps-c kit lens.

I actually got some great shots, had the FA43 on my k5 wasn't even thinking...
