Found: TRI-X from 1976 yearbook

I did all the developing and printing for our 1976 yearbook... I thought the negatives were gone. But I found a box of them at my mother's, and took a couple of handfuls home to scan. I took some of these, I was using a half frame Olympus Pen FT. There were at least two other photographers using full frame SLRs, though I don't remember what they were... Anyway, a blast from the 70s...

Oh, and here's me, I gave myself a radical short haircut!

That certainly brings back some memories. I graduated in '77.

Echoing Tony (also HS class of '77), I liked these too. Thanks Nesster.

Some people laugh now, but I really think it was. Even the music was light, airy and positive, if occasionally too silly or full of fantasy. Romance was real and people believed in it. Cynicism was more on the fringe than mainstream. But the punk movement was already well under way in New York, and the "realistic," grungy, dark and sometimes depressing 80's were coming! The style and flair of the 70's were soon to be gone. In order to be "somebody" you would soon have to start looking like nobody special.

Good stuff Jussi! I graduated in 1975, so I can relate to the hair and fashion!

I was newly married in 1976 and in my Junior year of college and if memory serves me correct these photos are pretty representative of the times. And yes, we WERE stylin', though in sometimes unconventional ways. I remember wearing a surplus Navy trenchcoat for much of one term. I even wore it skiing

H.S. Class of 1977 too! I shot a lot of Tri-X, and developed/print images for my college yearbooks (3 years). Best job ever!!:
I had that hair and wore those styles until Uncle Sam's Navy cut my hair and then told me what to wear most days.
