Remote cable release for K1000

Anyone know of a remote cable release that can be used on a Pentax K1000 slr? Thinking of doing some shot's with the camera on a tripod and remotely triggering it up to 50-100 meters away, wireless.

I don't think such a thing is available commercially. The K1000 is a fully mechanical camera. A cable release is available for it but it's just a simple plunger type arrangement that screws in to the top of the shutter release button.

If you're a DIY type of person, you could possibly rig up something using a radio remote control parts readily available from many hobby shops.

Saw this ad for an electronically activated mechanical trigger but I have not been able to find one yet . . .

Wow! I stand corrected.

How old is the ad though? It looks like it's from the 60's or 70's.

You know that Spiratone always had something cool back then. I think this was from a late 70's ad but not sure.

There was another kind that had a air pressure bulb at one end and a plunger at the other and about 25 feet of light plastic tube in between. Occasionally see them for sale second hand.

Keep in mind that OP is looking for a wireless solution with reach of 40~100m (approx. 130~330 feet) so the only viable solution would be via radio control.

Such devices did exist back in the film days, but were usually part of a camera system that included motor drive and intervalometer with a radio trigger interfaced into the intervalometer. The short story is that, except for something like the Spiratone unit above for single shots, you K1000 is sort of out of the game.
