Sigma 18-50mm 2.8 vs Tamron 17-50mm 2.8

hello :-)

about you what is the better between Sigma 18-50mm 2.8 and Tamron 17-50mm 2.8 ?

(i will must usually use this lens in f2.8)

The Tamron goes a bit wider than the Sigma, but other than that, I can't really say, as I've never used any of those lenses.

thansk for info.

i must use this lens in indoor with f2.8
i read sometimes tamron is better and sometimes sigma is better.

havn't tried the sigma, but i'm loving the tamron

PopPhoto says the Sigma is better
Photozone likes the Tamron better
look them both up for their reviews. i think QC will be the main factor in the end whether or not you get a good lens

haven't tried the Tamron, but am happy with the Sigma…

The Sigma is still good on the K20 (some other lenses, notably the Sigma 24-135, are completely unusable, due to lack of contrast) even fully open. Contrast is a bit lower than, but otherwise it is very usable. Even the breakdown near the corners is acceptable (at least for me) and disappears mostly when stepping down to f/4-f/5.6
