Difference Between Spotmatic SP and SP F?

I am enjoying my Spotmatic SP F, and am thinking of picking up another Spotmatic. Would I lose much in going for the Spotmatic SP version?

Thanks,
Glen

Spotmatic Comparison Table

Glen: It's a wide table and you might have to print it landscape on Legal, but here is a side-by-side comparison of the features and spec.s. I would say the most important difference is the loss of open-aperture metering on the Spots older that the F.

Hi Glen,

I found a link to a site that will tell you, to paraphrase a Woody Allen movie title, Everything you wanted to know about Pentax Screwmount camera's But were afraid to ask:

Google Image Result for http://www.aohc.it/cameras/spf01.jpg

Hope this helps and, FWIW, I thought it had something to do with the Spotmatic F having a "built on" hotshoe for a Flash

Cheers,

Jack

I'd stick with the Spotmatic-F and SMC Takumar lenses.
Stop-down metering is a real PITA...

It can be a pain in certain lighting conditions but having used, for many years, the Spotmatic F and Spotmatic II I wouldn't quite qualify the pre-Spotmatic F's as a "real PITA" rather they can be a sometimes PITA.
