Pentax MX shutter speed indication repair

I've got a slight shift of shutter speed in my viewscreen.
Meaning, when my camera is set to 1/125, I read 1/500 in the viewscreen. The shift is stable with 2 speed up difference.
Does someone know how to fix this by myself? It's not really annoying but having the right display can be better.
Thanks for your help.

The dial in the viewfinder is coupled to the main shutter speed dial with a cable.
Adjustment is possible although from what I remember it's a bit tricky, search online for the MX service manual, all the information is in there.

Service manual here: http://www.pentax-manuals.com/manuals/service/mx_sm.pdf

Calling it a cable is being kind. It is more like a strong piece of thread and is a common point of failure on the MX. It is repairable if you have the time and tools and are willing to accept the risk.
