How loud is it? Its like spanking a baby. First the loud "Whack" of the shutter, then the crying-baby whine of the winder motor advancing the film. It would be disrespectful to use it in any sort of church service. My SF1, SF1n, 645, & 645n all sound about the same. They are definitely attention hogs.

You won't be noticed anyway. People will try to spot someone looking at a LCD screen.

I feel that my SFXn isn't a lot louder than my K-r actually. On the plus side, you are almost guaranteed of eye contact for you next shot.

With casual use, the battery should last 6-12 months.
AFAIK, there is no battery grip for the SFX.
The SMC Pentax-F 35-70 is a great lens for that camera.

Edit
Apparently there is a AA battery holder that replaces the 2CR5 battery holder/grip.
Yes, I've just posted pics here: https://www.pentaxforums.com/accessoryreviews/pentax-aa-battery-grip-for-sf-series-slrs.html

I had the 35-70 kit zoom twice over - once on the SF1 my wife bought around 1990, and again on the SF10 I bought a few months later. She also bought the 70-210. When I rediscovered these two cameras a few years ago I wore out her SF1 and bought a couple of $25 replacements from KEH, along with 35/1.4, 50/1.4 and 100/2.8 primes. I'll often choose to take it with me over the F6 as it's as clever as I need and no cleverer, so not confusing (and I think the lenses are better than my Nikon lenses). I do use the AA battery grip as these batteries are cheap and available everywhere, unlike the 2CR5. Here's a quick portrait grabbed at work with the 35-70mm:

SMC-F 35-70 is good but for SFXn I prefer a FA lenses. SMC-FA 28-70 f/4 is a better proposition. You can look for 35-105mm F series. I have this lens a once time with K-3. 35-70mm and longer version have a identical optic quality. On K-3 and on film (Z1).

Back in 1989 when I bought my SFX, it came with the SMC F 35-70. I can't remember if I could have had a 50mm prime.
