MX Focusing Screens

Anyone know of a good resource for either the SB-1, SB-21, SC-1 or SC-21 focusing screens (besides e-bay)? And from you experienced MX or LX users, do you prefer the SB with just the split image or the SC with split image/microprism collar? My MX came with the SG grid screen and it seems to make focusing difficult at a distance.

P.S. Yes, I realize the LX screens will be about 1/3 EV brighter.

straightshooter the screens depend on what focal lengths you are using. The SC-1 is a great all round screen up until around 200mm. The SA-1 you might find better suited for longer than 200mm focal lengths.

to be honest I cant give you any resource better than ebay, and believe me I wish I could. I have two SC-1 and an SI screen all purchased off ebay, unless it states never opened or the like be weary because the screen in the box likely has dust or other stuff on it, all three screens Ive purchased have been this way and unless you actually mount the screen most of the particles are very difficult to see.

The SB-1 or SA-1 are probably the most usable of all the screens. Avoid the screens for the LX as your metering will be affected. Of note, I prefer the MX screens in my LX!?

Cheers,
Bob

Eric Hendrickson says no meter adjustment is necessary when installing an LX screen in an MX.

Chris, Bob, Séamuis and Rico, thanks for your input. I did find a SA-23 on e-bay and according to the auction, it was new in the box (although it didn't specify never opened). The SA-23 is not ideally what I wanted but it's better than what I had. I just noticed a LX with lots of goodies being auctioned and some of the goodies are four focusing screens including a SB-21 and SC-21. Maybe the winner will want to sell one of them since they are similar.
