Don't forget that other companies wanted credit for selling Pentax. A long time ago, in England, the cameras were sold as Honeywell Pentax. Maybe others tried to cash in on the Pentax success.

It is a nice sexy looking camera and the shape of these modern digital cameras fits like a glove on your hands. They are one-handed instruments if need be. But, as you rightly say, the plastic body leaves a lot to be desired. As a metallurgist, I can't overcome the feeling of cheapness in a plastic finish even though it doesn't rust, and can take knocks a bit better than metal.

Very pretty lens, too.

[sarcasm alert] I hate how Asahi ruined the Pentax brand by sticking their name on the camera.
Do you like Honeywell Pentax or, maybe, Ricoh Pentax?
