I am going to let you finish.... but the most beautiful Pentax camera is the Pentax 67 and/or 6X7.

Wow, that camera is in great condition. It looks like the original owner didn't use it much. Did you get it for collecting purposes or will you be shooting with it?

The problem sir, is that it's not a pentax really. Its an asahi. The pentax brand hand by been introduced yet.
[sarcasm alert] I hate how Asahi ruined the Pentax brand by sticking their name on the camera.

I was pretty sure you were teasing me about Pentax vs Asahi but with a name like Venom I wasn't certain

But only with the optional wooden handle, of course.

(Edit: In all seriousness: that is one fine looking Asahiflex.)

Nope, this is, if we're only talking the film cameras...

Camera of the Month: Asahi Pentax Spotmatic II | Second Hand Photo

I do have a black Honeywell version but I still and probably always will covet a black Asahi version. It's just one of those things, a personal obsession, but most of the ones I see are the Honeywell models. I totally love this film camera though. I have other old Pentax bodies but the SPII in black that's just beautiful to me. I would take that this SPII over any camera that they ever made, even the wonderful black KX which as far as I am concerned is the K mount equivalent for me.

Beautiful Asahi you have there. Have you tried running any film through it?

Has to be the MZ-S, for me. Bit biased but I love the size, unique and distinctive shape as well as the weight, its just about spot on. Only let down by the plastic and horrible rear panel with date function.....

Don't forget that other companies wanted credit for selling Pentax. A long time ago, in England, the cameras were sold as Honeywell Pentax. Maybe others tried to cash in on the Pentax success.

It is a nice sexy looking camera and the shape of these modern digital cameras fits like a glove on your hands. They are one-handed instruments if need be. But, as you rightly say, the plastic body leaves a lot to be desired. As a metallurgist, I can't overcome the feeling of cheapness in a plastic finish even though it doesn't rust, and can take knocks a bit better than metal.

Do you like Honeywell Pentax or, maybe, Ricoh Pentax?

The KX is my favorite Pentax to use, so it's the most beautiful to me!
