I received my slides in the mail today from Dwayne's and oh my gosh. Having them in your hand and holding them up to the light beats flickr hands down. I need a light table or a projector now! Unfortunately the Astia 100 I shot is magenta now :/ is there a way to correct this or should I just scan and use the Astia 100 preset in Lightroom?

The Ektachrome 64 came out perfect though, im guarding my other 11 rolls like it's gold!

Now you can understand all the fuss about "film emulation" in the digital realm. Camera manufacturers and customers want to see the same quality of rendering in their LCD that they see in a slide!

It's all about that non-linear color response in film that reflects how people see the world vs. how a digital sensor does. I figure if people want the "film look" then they ought to shoot film.

Scan the film and knock yourself out with the color corrections. You can remove most hues while maintaining the general rendering through proper white balance adjustments and color editing.

I'm glad to read that you enjoyed looking at your slides!

Yes, there is nothing like looking at positive film images, on a light table
Not to drain your wallet even faster, but larger format is even more impressive, any 2-1/4" format, or sheet film can be gorgeous.

Even before this I was looking for my first medium format camera. I can't imagine the quality upgrade.

I still have a bunch of 4x5 transparencies I took while I was school. They are 20+ years old and still beautiful. Maybe one day I will do it again...

I can't say which model is best; I have only owned a couple of low-end units.
Higher model numbers add extra features like autofocus, timed advance, slide preview etc.

All Kodak Carousel and Ektagraphic models feed slides using a very reliable gravity feed mechanism.

I went from a Carousel 750H to a Carousel 760H solely to gain AF, a very worthwhile upgrade IMO.

My current projector that I'm using is a Kodak Carousel model 4600 which I bought new in the 1990's. It has auto focus, but the more advanced 5600 had the timer, remote focus and view screen.

I swapped out the lens with a better model that I bought on eBay a few years back.

I have lots of carousel slide trays in 80 & 140 if anyone wants them. (Freeeeeeeeeee)
