Can't focus to infinity on my LX

I've got this combo together and was about to send the cam off for CLA when I noticed the infinity doesn't work. Trying to focus on a tree in my backyard which is probably 150' away and its still split in the prism.

Is there a problem with my lens/camera or is this a known issue? Seems like its a mm too far away from the mirror.

Edit: Just tested and it seems the same with my A 50 1.4 and M 135 3.5. so its a problem with the camera. Anyone else have this problem? I'll mention it to the service guy and maybe he knows.

It has to do with the bumpers that the mirror rests on.Over time they deteriorate, which causes the mirror to rest lower than it should.Should be fine after a CLA.

That's the dreadful disesase called "sticky mirror syndrome", typical of the LX.

You should CLA the camera or shim the mirror, it's better to CLA it, the syndrome happens once every 20 years or so.

I also had something like this happen, all of a sudden, on one particular occasion:

I was all set to shoot some candid "kids portraits" of three photogenic young ladies at a cousin's house and yard. (This was about 15 years ago, or so, in "Ye Olde Film Days of Yore".) I was using an LX (which had been working perfectly the previous time it had been used) and a Tokina AT-X 60-120/2.8 zoom (perfect for the occasion), and everything seemed to go just fine until (and you probably can guess the next part) I got the prints back. Every single shot featured out-of-focus subjects.

At first, for a moment, I suspected the lens, except I couldn't figure out just what could have gone wrong with a lens that could do this without the problem being visible while shooting. Then I inspected the LX, and found that a mirror bumper had totally dislodged (and was lost, as far as I could tell -- I guessed that it likely dropped out during the last lens change).

So, the good news was that a CLA was an easy (if not inexpensive) fix for the LX, but the bad news was that there was no fix for the shots that were lost as a result. Oh well...
