HELP - K1000 with self timer

While we can't rule out it could be genuine (prototype?, limited run?), almost 45 years is long enough for somebody to run into non working KM, KX, K2 and K1000 units and make a Frankenstein out of parts.
While different, back in college I worked at the computer center. They took me to this room where there were dozens of non-working PCs from all over campus. I spent weeks cannibalizing and making as many working units as possible.
