How many film camera systems do you own?

Time for some fun (and my apologies if this is a resurrection of an old thread)...

Many of us film heads may on occasion go nuts on the bay or some other outlet, or otherwise get non-Pentax urges. These are normal, all people get them (I mean the urges, not necessarily the cameras), but not all become mount-promiscuous.

So, an informal poll: how many and what film camera systems / mounts do you have - you must have at least one body and at least two lenses for it.

---------- Post added 10-23-2015 at 09:39 AM ----------

Mine:
1. Leica Screw Mount
2. M42
3. Contax RF
4. Miranda PAD
5. Nikon F
6. Pentax K
7. Minolta MD
8. Olympus OM

+ unofficially the RB Graflex, as I have used multiple lenses on it + the Miranda extension tubes.

One Pentax ME, acquired in 1980. I have the M 50 f/1.4 lens that came with it. I also have a Vivitar 28mm wide and a Vivitar 70-210 f/4.5 zoom. I can't recall when I purchased the last two, but I've had them for quite some time also. Very little seems to be known about the zoom, regrettably.

Edit based on the suggestion below to reply what gear you are actually using currently:

I've not shot the ME in a long time. Cost of film/convenience of digital and all. I have thought about getting some slide film and seeing what happens, though. I really liked the ME, and I got a few good photos from it. I miss the split screen focusing - I was slow as a snail, but I felt that I could nail the focus every time. Now let's see.....can you even buy slide film anymore?..........does anyone even develop it?

Oh, yeah, I even have a flash that I used with the ME - a Vivitar. It does not twist, bounce, measure, communicate, make change, or drive your car for you like the current flashes do today, but I could at least vary the output with some adjustments. In fact, it was not even called a flash, it was called a THYRISTOR!

Pentax MX with motor drive and a couple of replacement focus screens and an ME Super. Both in mint condition and perfect working order. One has the Pentax 50mm F1.7 attached and the other has a third party 35-105 zoom attached.

Pentax M42 Camera with at least 10 or more lenses.

Konica with at least 5 lenses

Nikon with at least 5 lenses.

Olympus with at least 5 lenses

have also Revuenon back in Europe with some Meyer Oreston and Pentacon Revuenon branded lenses...

Those do not count but had them until 2-3 months ago:
- Sold recently my old Mamiya 645 body with some lenses...
- Praktica body given as present with 4 Zeiss aus Jena DDR prime lenses to a very good friend before he moved out of province (he was a big fan of old school 35mm BW film and loved the Zeiss DDR primes. As I had some excellent primes there and he always adore them I just give them those in regards of good times and friendship).

For me, I currently have only 3 Pentax K-mount film bodies (so only 1 system in this thread's context) -

1 LX body (with a winder and various viewfinder accessories)

2 black ME F bodies (each with a "dedicated" AF 35-70/2.8 lens)

[I used to have quite a few more K-mount Pentax film bodies, as well as 1 M37 Pentax Asahiflex and several M42 Pentax screwmount film bodies.]

A Minoltaflex (6x6) system
A Pentax 645 and 645n + about 7 or 8 prime lenses
A Pentax 6x7 + about 5 prime lenses.

A GraficView II 4x5 camera with several lenses.

Digital - Pentax K-5 and more lenses than I really need (but they're all good for something).

Film (K-mount) - Pentax ME, P3, P30T; Ricoh XR-1 with three Rikenon lenses.

Film (M42) - An Asahi and a Honeywell Spotmatic (the Asahi I didn't really need, but it came attached to a lens I wanted).

To what degree the Ricoh camera counts as non-Pentax is debatable - certainly when it came out they were separate and competing entities, but at the same time they had completely compatible mounts and lenses. I don't want to dip my toes in non-K-mount/non-M42 waters because that would make my LBA so much worse it isn't funny. At one stage I was running a Minolta Dynax/Maxxum 3xi and two lenses (later consolidated to one superzoom) and a P50T, but the Minolta soon went by the wayside, and within a few years I dabbled in Nikon's coolpix system, but eventually went all-Pentax and see no need to change.

  1. Canon FD.
  2. Pentax K.
  3. M42.
  4. Contax/Kiev RF.
  5. Pentax 67.

Huh. That's less than I thought. (Possibly because it counts systems, and not cameras.)

Damn, I forgot all about my 645

Personally, I'd stick with the OM and the Pentax K if I had any sense at all. The Minoltas and Nikons are too big, I like em small. But I have a Nikon D600, so I might as well keep the Nikon around. So get rid of the Minolta. Hardly seems worth it.

ajpps - I also have a zenit, mine's a M39 a friend gave me, and I have yet to shoot it. But then I'm not currently shooting much.
