Upload old camera manuals to Pentax Forums

It would be a nice if under the older camera reviews, on the header page of the reviews for each camera, a scanned copy of the manual were available for download.

I have scanned in my KX manual and also the SMC K lens manual. I would be happy to upload for use by others if this were implemented.

It would be nice. On the other hand the forum has a good relationship with Ricoh and those manuals are still technically under copyright...

I'm sure they wouldn't have a problem with it if we asked Great idea!

If they're okay with it, great. I could scan an A-lens manual from 1983.

I'd be happy to help with hosting the scans. You can e-mail them to:

We could then start a thread containing the various manuals. It'd be great if an active member could maintain an index in the first post.

Done!
Just sent you an email now, Adam. I think this will be one extra little thing that draws traffic to this site. Before I bought my KX, I was trawling the net for a manual and the one I did find had the scanner's name and "copyright" all over it. I was just lucky the seller of my camera had retained the manual for 41 years!
Cheers!!!

The brochure page is cool. The KX brochure has a photo by Helmut Newton and a cool pictures of the 26 "new" K lenses (!!) and the factory in cherry blossom season.

Still, with our thousands of members, there must be tonnes of great material we could uncover.

There's also Michael Butkus's great manual site - lots of old manuals, including many Pentax ones.

Butkus maintains one of the best resources for film photography on the Web and is my first choice when referring people for manuals download. He does his work on a donation basis and I believe it is a good thing to support him if possible.

I just made a donation to the Butkus site just a couple of hours ago.
And downloaded a MZ-S User Manual pdf, too
