This is one of many favourites from my days shooting with a Pentax 67 in South Africa - probably a 90mm lens on Fujichrome Velvia.

I've always liked this one. Taken with a Pentax PZ-1P / FA 28-105mm F4-5.6 at Pecos National Historic Park outside of Santa Fe, NM. If I remember correctly, it was shot with Kodak 200 film. Picture size 10x8.

This was taken with a Rolleicord twin-lens reflex. Pretty sure the film was Kodak Ektar.

Lovely SA landscape. I too have many scenes imprinted in my being.

I posted this image early on in my PF life. It is my most favorite of all the photos I've ever captured.

During the summer of 1986, my Ex and I were on a 4 day-3 night "free" trip to Acapulco we "won" after falling for a timeshare sales pitch. On this day we were watching the cliff divers from the opposite side of the inlet. I attempted shots for every dive, perhaps 8 to 12, and this one stands out. The contrast of the cliff and the water and the diver (maybe 12 years old) in mid-air with both the cliffs and the sea as backdrop - that's what works for me.

I kept a 5x7 print of this on a cork board at my office. I would print this in large format, perhaps as an inspirational poster with "Confidence" or "Daring" emblazoned along the bottom. However, I lost the negative many many years ago. Below is a scan of the 5x7 print, with some scratches and the push pin hole created when I first hung it at the office.

I used my K1000, a J.C. Penny 80-200mm zoom lens, a 2x converter (not sure if I used it), and probably some variety of 100 speed Kodak film - as I preferred minimal grain.

It's a great shot, and a great story. I've got a few slides I'd really like to find that got 'lost in the undertow', or possibly jumbled up with 1,000s of less interesting stuff packed in boxes and suitcases. Also some scans that I sunk many hours into pp and printing, and I don't have the prints which I sold or gave away, can't find the digital files except in lo-res jpegs.

It's "misplaced" negatives that really bug me now. I have all my slides dating back to 1972 present and accounted for, it's the negatives I can't find from the late 1960's & early 1970's.

Agreed! Slides have their nice boxes. Negatives tend to end up in tattered envelopes along with the prints or (worst case) are cast aside when prints are placed in albums.

I guess this one was technically printed and hung. Shortly after Ektar 100 came to market, Kodak sponsored a contest for Ektar images. While I did not make it into the winners circle, the image below did get me a good supply of film and a week or so of display on Times Square in New York and on the Kodak Web site.
