I have had an LX, ( still have an MZ5 with battery pack ) but I would rate my Nikon F3 ahead of the LX when it comes to a great manual focus 35 mm.

Terry, how do you rate the F3 over the LX?

LesD, my Nikon F3 is now 35 years old, still used regularly and has never had a problem. Nikon made a huge range of lenses and accessories for this model which made it just so versatile. It was THE 35 mm camera taken on many space missions, so its reliability was never in doubt. My LX suffered on a number of occasions with the sticky mirror problem, even after a proper service, so you never knew when a shot was going to get missed. Sold it years ago, and of course kept the F3.

TerryC, I would not use a camera that wasn't dependable either.

As people rarely had to own computers, software and scanners to move their prints onto displays, film camera systems really didn't cost all that much.
