yep, that is the m37 one with an adapter. Still very cool. The adapter is quite rare too.
If I am not mistaken the M42 ones are black and chrome (at least mine is)

This thread has inspired me to document all of my Asahiflex bits and pieces. I've got each of the primary versions of the cameras and all the lenses bar the 83mm and a couple of third party lenses too. Here's a pic of the Tower 22, 23 and 24 models including both the early and late version of the 23 as per the corresponding versions of the IIb. The Tower 22 has the Tower 35/2.5 while the 24 has the Kyoei Optical Acall 135/3.5

Very cool. I have two tower 35 2.5 lenses. One is reads HC in red and the other one PC in red. I am not sure what the difference is.

Thanks for sharing! Hope you will post more photos of your collection.

Getting the 83mm and the 135mm is on my wishlist.

Can you post some photos of those Tower lenses?

It would've been cool to add some info on the third party lenses that were available. M37 was not a mount used by many except for Ashiflex and some early Leica models if I'm not mistaken.

Nice pair.

These were made by Fujita Kogaku Kikai and branded Tower. Possibly the first retrofocus lens in the world. It is found in various mounts like m37, m42, m39 Exacta.

The Tower should have some engraving on the rear stating that it is for Asahiflex.

Mine is an H.C. No. 26122.

I've got a couple of the flash units, both still in their boxes (although slightly used). Unfortunately the boxes are packed away at the moment but this is what it looks like when ready for use:

If you ever considered to sell one of your flashes, I would be really interested. That is so cool.

Asahiflex I

The first Asahiflex called Asahiflex I arrived the other day. It is a clean and nice copy but the shutter speeds are off.

This specific model was sold only in Japan, approx 7600 copies were made. "Asahi Opt.Co" is embossed in the back covering. The tripod mount on the right hand side, facing the rear of the camera. And a single x-sync flash terminal. The mirror is semi-rapid-return, the mirror follows the action of the shutter button; it flips open just prior to opening the curtain and returns to open position when you relase the pressure on the shutter button. My version is from a late production run, you can tell by the high serial number and that the side blades in the finder are black and not chrome like the earliest versions.

It was delivered orignaly with the Asahi-Kogaku 50mm f3.5 version 1. Version 1 have the flat front ring in chrome. And manual aparture, version 2 and 3 have preset aparture and a different design of that front ring.

The s/n are 5 digits on the camera body. Some of the early version of the lenses can be found with 4 digits s/n.

The lens case is in a really good condition. I like the way the stiches looks, and the neat hole for the single core type flash terminal. There are two types of cases for the Asahiflex series: the flat nosed on that is designed to fit the 50mm and a larger one designed for the larger 58mm lens.

Heads-up, another seller trying to sell a Takumar 100mm m37 as a rare m42 version. Note that this also have an adapter mounted. I cannot tell if it is an original adapter or a newer one.

Look at this on eBay VERY RARE ASAHI-KOGAKU TAKUMAR 100mm F3.5 M42 SCREWMOUNT | eBay
